I will use this always--it is a terrific reference book. This is a great book for the beginning gardener! A friend of mine gave it to me because I am learning how to landscape and garden. This is a completely new area for me as I consider myself an "accomplished indoors-woman"! I can bake it, cook it or knit it but garden?? Me??! I am a city girl at heart but there is hope. I have already learned a lot and refer to this book almost daily to help me get the outside of my house in shape. I have planted using how-tos and suggestions from the book and so far so good. I have also learned how to "amend" the soil and I can now prune with a vengeance!

This book had some really good pointers and ideas if you arean avid gardener...I've been gardening for 9 years and love every second ofit. It's a lot of work, but, the blooms and herbs and vegetables and fruits you get in return make all of the work well worth it...A good read:-)

Very helpful read for a first time gardener! Lots of information but it’s broken down easily. I liked that there were so many pictures. I was intimidated to grow plants from seeds but this book made it seem so simple and it really is. Will definitely keep this as a resource for future gardening endeavors.
