This is a great book to have along with you while in one of the mountain parks in Western Canada. It is one which I include in my treks each time I travel westward. It has come in handy in those times where I'd like to do another hike, and unsure of the distance and strain it may or not put on my body. All of that type of information is set out in very easy to read segues to a particular hike. From what to wear for clothing and footwear, to the best times of season, from easy to strenuous, and ground level to steep inclines and more.
It is a must have for those who love to venture into the wilderness and back-country as well as to take in the more touristy sites. It also includes many places to go out and dine at, see movies, do the local activities, take helicopter tours, fish, swim, golf or just relax at a spa. It is all here in this 400 page book.

Much of the same feelings I had the first time around.

I chose this book because I wanted more information about sights and trails in Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. Information about other parks are included.

The book is well-organized and contains sufficient information about the location of trailheads. Descriptions of the trails include what to look for when the trail turns or has a junction. Length of trail, change in elevation, rating of the trail from easy to strenuous, and the typical time required to hike the trail are included. Information about shuttle bus is included. There are maps and pictures. Sections about rainy day activities are included.

I recommend it for readers who are planning their vacation. The description of the trails makes me wish I had more time scheduled in these two National Parks.
