In his early twenties, Mike Malone is already successful. He has a loving girlfriend, a stellar future…and a father he thought long dead. But now, Dad is back. He has revealed himself to be a fallen angel and insists Mike become his very own anti-Christ. When Mike refuses Dad is not happy and all hell, literally, breaks loose.
What would you do if you suddenly found out that your long dead father was actually a fallen angel? That is what Mike Malone finds out in this book quite quickly. Not only does he learn that he is a Nephiliam but that his father has planned for him to become his own personal anti-Christ in the battle for control of the earth. This book has lots of drama and excitement. There are multiple worlds to explore and even a trip to Heaven. There are several battles between humans and the forces of the fallen. Michele Archer even threw in a little bit of romance and saving the damsel in distress, something for everyone.
The Calling of Mike Malone was a book that I found quite entertaining as well as informative. Michele did her homework in writing this book. She obviously has done a lot of research into the Nephiliam of the Bible. Having read the book of Enoch I enjoyed the way Michele wove it's narratives into the story and expounded on them.
Some reviewers were put off by the use of what is considered foul language in a supposedly Christian fiction book, I found the language real. As a pastor I read a lot of Christian fiction, the one thing I find unrealistic is that the lost in most of those books speak like they are Christians. In this book yes there is some very harsh language but if you have unsaved friends then you know that they talk this way. Especially in the types of situations Mike finds himself in.
I am giving this book five out of five stars. I can honestly say that it is one of the best books I have read this year. I will be thinking about it for months to come. I have already let the author know that I can't wait for the sequel. It is well worth the price. Pick up your copy today.
I was fortunate enough to win a copy of this book! I recall the day when I saw the trailer of this book on Facebook, by way of a link to YouTube, an anime featurette if you will, titled, "The calling of Mike Malone". The brief description of the story caught my eye. I haven't done a lot of reading over the years, but the premiss of the story was intriguing, so as soon as I received the book, off to reading I go! Very easy to read, I was knocking out 30 pages a setting. phenomenal story and very descriptive! I'm praying for a sequel, yeah it was that good! A graphic novel would be awesome too! Thank You M.L. Archer!
