The Earth as a whole has not changed much in the last few thousand years, so even if this book is a bit older, the information contained within will almost always apply. I used this book to help me plan out landscaping under and around my deck. Provides plenty of useful and practical information throughout.

You've got your coffee table garden books, and then you've got this one. There is plenty of practical step-by-step advice in this book. I plan to use some of the instructions on how to build ornamental hardscape elements, like cement planters and wooden benches.

Some parts made me roll my eyes, though. Like the part where they show a guy planning his garden and drawing elevations with a one-page instruction on how to do the same. Guess what? 99% of amateur landscape designers couldn
