In case you haven’t figured out from the title, this is not one of those deep, dark, serious books. It is intended for a tongue in cheek, playful romp. We have the Beautiful Heroine (complete with heaving bosom) the Handsome Hero (barely clad in a scanty loincloth) the Wise Wizard and a Flaming Fairy. If you like your fantasy serious, you will need to go elsewhere, but if your sense of humor is intact you will have fun. One game you can play with this is spot the reference. Yes, they do change t ...more

If you like fantasy, comedy, references to pop culture and more than a wee bit of raunch, then this is the book for you. I don't think I've laughed so hard in ages as I followed the adventures of the heroine, Arrabella and her three companions: the gorgeous specimen of manhood, the Beast-master, Langley, the Green Fairy Jim (watch out Kylie) and the wizard Gary as they set off to win a tournament and rescue the Reginas - Arrabella's adopted parents. From references to The Princess Bride, Mr Ed, ...more

Can I write a serious review about this book?

No...I dont think I can, its just too...silly for that and thats why I loved it. It was nice to just relax and enjoy a book without all the tension and emotion and high expectations, it was just nice to sit down with a truly foolish book and laugh my head off over its foolishness. A fun cheesy read and I will certainly be reading on if or when the next book comes out. All I shall say on the matter is Thank God the wizard got his balls back and I want

Not my usual genre, but I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Loved the one liners and the "tongue in cheek" reference to other stories. Very clever, witty and just a little bit naughty!!

To tell you the honest truth, I don’t even know where to begin this review let alone be serious, because writing a serious review about a not-so-serious book would be weird.

Arrabella Candellabra by A K Wrox, the clever pen-name of Australian authors Kylie Fox and Amanda Wrangles, is hands down one of the strangest, fu

I thought this title was very good as a parody, but I think that even in satire novels I'm still looking for a bit more other than simple cardboard cut-out characters. The jokes were great, but everything else just felt a little bland.

A witty page turner that throws all the tropes out the window and is original and laugh out loud funny.
