The world’s best-selling magazine for young women asked three best-selling authors to each write a story steamy enough for the pages of Cosmo—a tall order, but these ladies so delivered. The trio of tantalizing tales was such a hit that they’ve been compiled into this must-have ebook. Now, readers can devour these naughty little nuggets whenever, wherever. Here’s a taste of the deliciousness inside:
Sex Under the Stars by Jane Green
Maggie’s marriage fell apart three years ago—and now she has her eyes set on her ex-hubby’s smoke-show of a best friend.
Birthday Sex She’ll Never Forget by Jennifer Weiner
Daphne’s turning twenty-six, and the best damn gift she could have ever asked for comes in the form of a hot guy from her past—and his spine-tingling mattress moves.
Falling in Lust at the Jersey Shore by Meg Cabot
When Gemma agrees to go in on a house at the Jersey Shore, she assumes every dude there will be a gorilla juicehead. So she is pleasantly surprised by the yummy piece of eye candy waiting for her when she arrives.
Jane Green's twenty first novel, Sister Stardust, is out April 5th 2022.

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I requested this book. I saw stories by Jane Green, Jennifer Weiner and Meg Cabot and thought, "Hmm, might be good." There hasn't been a story read by Meg Cabot that I haven't loved in one way or another so I didn't think I'd be disappointed in this one but once the book loaded onto my nook and I saw how many pages the entire book (all three stories plus title page, dedication page, etc...), my first thought was, "Shit."
There are 22 pages in this e-book. Total. There aren't 22 pages in each story but 22 pages in total. I couldn't believe it but I forged ahead anyway because I did request this book. At least it would be a quick read, right?
*sigh*
To say that the stories in this book are in fact stories, is a bit of a stretch (okay, a flat out lie). They weren't stories, they were three sex scenes that aren't anywhere near the most naughtiest "stories" that I've read...and that's saying something because erotica is not my thing.
The thing is, had there been more depth to each story, more pages to develop the stories- each story had the potential to be pretty good. I mean, seeing the guy you lusted after before you married your ex husband when you guys are both single again and steaming up the sheets on his boat? Great potential for a good story. Then, meeting up with a guy from high school (all these many years later) and having a one night stand? Yeah, could be a great story. And then there's falling in lust at the Jersey Shore? Come on, if anyone could turn that story into a winner, it'd be Meg Cabot. But for me, all of these "stories" fell flat on their face because the sex was front and center with each of these stories and due to word counts, they just weren't all that. Each story felt rushed and not once did I feel like I was apart of the story, I felt like it was Monday morning and my horny coworkers were telling me about their raunchy weekends. I listened but I was already thinking about the reports that I need to run after they're done talking. It felt like that with each story.
I would break down my review by each story but my thoughts would be the same for each one. Each story had the potential to be good if only they'd been fleshed out more. Of the three, the first story was my least favorite, I just didn't buy the whole, "Oh hey, nice to see you after all of these years. It's my birthday, let's go fuck!" Yeah, right. Had it been longer, the storyline fleshed out more, getting to know the heroine and the guy's back story, maybe it would be believable but the wam, bam, thank you ma'am didn't appeal to me. The second story wasn't that much better because after she bangs her ex-husband's best friend (the one she lusted after even before she married his best friend), she knows that she was pretty skanky so she's like, "That's enough that he just banged me to hell and back. He gave me my self worth and now I can finally move on from my ex-husband who I didn't even love in the first place." Oh, please. Meg Cabot's addition to this trio of sex scenes was the best of the bunch. The heroine goes to the Jersey Shore because her and her boyfriend are on a break (Yeah, I thought of Ross and Rachel too). She bangs the guy she thinks is the pool guy but is like, whatever it's the Jersey Shore...and I could believe it because it is the Jersey Shore. After watching Jersey Shore for the past four seasons, if anything outrageous is going to happen- it's going to happen at the Jersey Shore so that was why I liked that story the best.
Overall, this book fits with what I'd expect to find on the pages of a Cosmo magazine. It makes sense that they'd cut out some stuff as to not turn their magazine into a Playboy magazine but naughtiest story? Nope. Is it worth it to buy the e-book? I don't think so. There wasn't enough story and even though it's only 89¢, it's still not enough story for me to dish out even that little bit of money. Though I would probably buy the magazine to read them, only because you'd get some eye candy and other stories that would be worth the on the shelf price.
My final grade for this one....
...1.5 out of 5.

Sex Under the Stars - Jane Green - 2.5 Stars - Maggie, Aiden - Aiden comes back into Maggie’s life after a few years away. He rocks her world and reminds her she is not a dried-up old divorcee.
Birthday Sex She’ll Never Forget - Jennifer Weiner - 2.5 Stars - Daphne, Caleb Armstrong - Another meh story. Actually, more of a scene than a story.
Falling in Lust at the Jersey Shore - Meg Cabot - 2.5 Stars - Gemma, Tom - I feel like more of an attempt at a story was made. There is a hint of the future with Gemma and Tom.
Overall, I think these stories qualify as “sexiest ever” if you are used to reading fade to black or very light romance. They were not badly written just kinds of blah if you want more story.
The most UNSEXY book I've ever read. Each short story is about 8pgs long, and you would think that faced with short story limitations, each author would cut to the chase and go straight to the "heaving bussoms" and "throbbing member" bits? Nope, instead we waste precious word-count on character development! And the language used? It's about as amorous as the ingredients list on the side of a box of Cheerios (the boring, good for you, geriatric plain flavour of Cheerios) Where's the smut!!! If you can't use the (gasp!) d*ck word, you can get around it, with plenty of euphemisms and descriptors! Unsurprisingly, nary a "moist" was ever uttered in any story. Lastly, the first two stories had chapter names? It's literary coitus interruptus to have a break in all the action, with visual paragraph break and the next chapter heading "Happy Ending" Ugh, there is absolutely no "Happy Ending" with this e-book
Well, this was not very good. I almost stopped reading after the first story, which was just horrendous. It's not the author's fault - how are you supposed to squeeze characters, romance, and an explicit sex scene (complete with mention of safe sex, obviously) in so few pages? I guess I didn't understand that "Cosmo's" meant "short enough to be a magazine article". Weiner and Cabot had better efforts - which is why I gave this book the second star, since it was quite a feat to write a passable story in such short length. I think Weiner's was my favorite, as it managed to establish the characters a bit better.
I've read far steamier and naughtier, and obviously much better romance, so I say save your two dollars and buy yourself some candy.
I guess if you have to put "sexiest stories ever" on the cover, you're attempting to hype yourself up. These are not the sexiest short stories ever. Now, I understand that (1) these are magazine article length stories so they are bound to be short, quick, and to the point and (2) there is a very clear desire to promote safe sex (in one story, the guy has to run inside to go get a condom). I love safe sex. However, the way in which this was addressed was silly. The short, choppy articles are not that inspiring. You read three stories and they're almost all identical in that department (the order of events; this is the best sex ever; attempts at humor).
This was lackluster. But it is a quick 10-minute read if you have the time.
lmaooo so i read this bc it was on overdrive and i figured it would be a nice short read to motivate myself to read a bit more...i was wrong. i was expecting them to jump right in with the "sexy" stuff, which btw wasn't sexy at all, but they started with description and shit, which isn't valid in a story this short. at least they practiced safe sex and tbh it was a better read than that dreaded jd salinger book sooo...
I thought I was getting a hot novel, but it turned out to be a few stories written for a magazine. Three very short stories. I read them between watching the late news and the midnight version of the Curse of Oak Island. There was hardly enough time or hot material to get hard on. I suggest it be read when bedtime occurs as the stories might put you asleep.
Didn’t realize women could write such unsexy sex stories. It’s like they were written by men for men. Come on ladies - we deserve better smut than this middle school nonsense. Two stars simply cause I could count it as a book read for annual book challenge. Otherwise - waste of time.
Not sure what they were comparing this to, because all three stories were fairly bland at best and the whole "book" was shorter than a children's picture book.
Unfortunately these are not the sexiest stories I've ever read. I've read much sexier, steamier stories. However, I don't think this is the fault of the writers more than it's a fault of the format of the stories. They're just too short. In fact, I don't know if I'd call them stories as more than sexy scenes. I don't know the actual page count since it was only available in eBook format but it three short stories. While they each had interesting premises and the writing was well done on all of them, they lacked character and story development.
In “Sex Under The Stars,” Maggie is still hurting from the failure of her marriage three years prior when his best friend comes back to town. He’s always been attracted to Maggie but has stayed away because of his relationship with her husband. Now that she’s a free agent, he takes her out on his boat for a night neither of them will forget. While I liked this idea in this one, I found Maggie to be somewhat unlikeable. She feels very sorry for herself over the failure of her marriage but keeps saying that she knew she wasn’t in love with her husband when she married him. Then she gets mad when he leaves her and says that he never deserved her. I found myself thinking that she didn’t deserve a night under the stars with her sexy friend.
Of the three stories, “Birthday Sex She’ll Never Forget” was my favorite. The story of the high school nerd coming back as a grown up hottie was fun and sexy. It also felt that Daphne and Caleb at least had a little bit of history and an emotional connection. Their hot love scene still manages to be sweet and touching.
“Falling In Lust At The Jersey Shore” feels like the beginning of a really good beach read. Gemma heads to the Jersey Shore imagining it to be littered with tan buffoons and instead, finds an attractive male specimen working in the backyard of her rental house. I found myself wondering what happened after their hot encounter by the pool.
I am familiar with all of these authors though I’ve never read anything by Jane Green. Reading these stories wouldn’t make me go out and get a book by any of these authors but neither would I avoid these authors based on these stories. Since this is for Cosmo, I am assuming that these stories appeared in the magazine at some point, which explains why they’re so short. The scenes themselves were quite steamy and I enjoyed them but they left me unfulfilled and a bit frustrated. A quick roll in the hay is fun but I need more than hot sex to keep my interest. The buildup of sexual tension is sometimes the best part of a romance and this has almost none. If you’re looking for a sexy read, I’d skip this brief collection and pick up a full length book by any of these authors or any number of great romance books out there.
I received this book free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This, in no way, affected my opinion or review of this book.

Three powerhouse ladies of Chick Lit come together in this collection of short stories that are perfect for the closing of these hot summer months, but warm enough for the winter holidays to come as well. Jane Green, Jennifer Weiner and Meg Cabot have created characters for Cosmopolitan Magazine readers and fans everywhere that will have them on their toes with anticipation for the next story in the trio. Each takes place in a different place, with completely different characters and circumstances and they’ll each leave you surprised by what these normally tame authors pull out of their hats.
So, how to review a set of short stories that were each just a quick jump into a steamy pool? Well, first of all I have to say that I’m blushing just writing this review. Normally I’m not one for explicit sex scenes or overly graphic anything in books, but I was honestly taken by surprise with this set. Initially I picked up the collection based entirely on the authors, each were ones I’d read before and thoroughly enjoyed. So I thought, why not? I was completely surprised by what I discovered upon reading their stories though. Not only were they the perfect length with excellent writing, but they were incredibly well developed for such a short time span. Within each story there was an honest connection with each leading lady which was quite surprising, but made for a wonderful reading experience.
Now, as for the “steaminess” of the set. I’m not going to lie, yes it’s completely steamy and very sexy in every way possible. Would they be great reads for Chick Lit fans? Absolutely! Each story walked a line that made it perfect reading for those Chick Lit fans that like a little bit more “action” and less chit chat. And to be completely honest, I’ll probably be reading this set again sometime in the near future (and yes, I’m still blushing).
Overall, these three bestselling Chick Lit authors have completely surpassed my expectations. Each story is unique, well developed, different from the author’s norm and of course…very sexy. This is a set of short stories not to be missed, especially if you’re a fan of Jennifer Weiner, Jane Green or Meg Cabot!
Cosmo's Sexiest Stories Ever from the Editors of COSMOPOLITAN is composed of three short naughty tales by famous chick lit authors Jane Green, Jennifer Weiner and Meg Cabot. I've seen Cosmo's short tales before, but this one caught my interest mainly because of the popular authors and steamy hot cover.
The first naughty tale is Sex Under the Stars by Jane Green. Maggie has fantasized about her ex-husband's best friend for three years. On a lazy evening, he shows up on her doorstep and takes her on an impromptu boat ride filled with waves of pleasure.
The second naughty tale is Birthday Sex She'll Never Forget by Jennifer Weiner. Daphne is spending her 26th birthday stuck at a wedding when she runs into a hot guy from her past. They get reacquainted by tearing each other's clothes off. What better time to be reckless and treat yourself than on your birthday?
The third naughty tale is Falling in Lust at the Jersey Shore by Meg Cabot. Gemma is heartbroken and needs a distraction. She heads to the Jersey Shore. There she meets the hottest guy she's ever laid hands on.
I'm already familiar with Weiner; she is one of my fave authors. Meg Cabot is also familiar to me through her Queen of Babble and Heather Wells series. I've only read one Jane Green book previously, but her naughty tale sparked me to check out more of her work, as well as more of Cosmo's similar releases. Summer is over but you can still bring in the heat with this inexpensive ($0.89) eBook.
Hmm, this really wasnt much of a book, barely a collection of stories-they are good as magazine articles but as a collection of anything, they leave a lot to be desired. Still, as its pretty clear how its advertized as to what it is-buyer beware. My copy was free which is the only way i would have read it-it is-at the time of writing this it's $1.99 on Amazon, which there is no way i would pay for. I've had this one my to be read shelf in awhile, and it worked as a breather between stories, but i wouldn't recomend it unless you catch it on sale or for free.
As an advid romance reader, these stories were relatively lame, but if you're a cosmo reader, then you might be titilated if these stories did actually happen.
These three stories were fine, really short, but okay!
Considering that the author's are pretty well known. The stories are good, and the author's definitely know their way around a keyboard. Short stories leave a lot to the imagination, which is just what they are supposed to do!!
Basically Penthouse Forum for women I guess! Not sure if I'm just too old for this type of format but the stories were just too short and jump to it. I need more of a plot and setup than just random sex with strangers.
I am not sure what I was expecting with this ebook but it definitely was not what I read. The stories were dull and I would never classify them as "Sexiest Stories Ever."
Ultimately, I would not recommend this book to anyone.
My favourite genre is romance and that’s why I wanted to read this. I wanted a short and snappy romance and erotic short stories usually are good. The only problem I had with it was with Jane Green’s story, where the message was too on the nose for me.
The first story was ugh. It nearly made me stop reading until I realized I was already half way through the book. Meg Cabot's story was definitely my favorite. A super easy and sexy read.
