पुरुषोत्तम लक्ष्मण [पु. ल.] देशपांडे हे लोकप्रिय मराठी लेखक, नाटककार, नट, कथाकार व पटकथाकार, दिग्दर्शक आणि संगीत दिग्दर्शक होते. त्यांना महाराष्ट्राचे लाडके व्यक्तिमत्त्व असे म्हटले जायचे. त्यांच्या आद्याक्षरांवरून महाराष्ट्रात ते प्रेमाने पु. ल. म्हणून ओळखले जातात. लेखक आणि कवी वामन मंगेश दुभाषी ऊर्फ ऋग्वेदी हे पु.ल.देशपांड्यांचे आजोबा होते तर आणि सतीश दुभाषी हे मामेभाऊ आहेत.

खूपदा विचार होऊन पुढे तो मांडता येतोच अस नाही. कधी मांडायच खूप असत पण प्रगल्भ vocabulary नसते, कधी नुसतच सुन्न वाटत, कधी सोयिस्कररित्या दुर्लक्ष करतो आपण. ultimately जाऊ दे होतं त्या सगळ्याचच. पण मग एक वेळ अशी येते की आपण कोणालातरी भेटतो आणि सगळ confess करायचा प्रयत्न करतो, अगदी सगळ. तोड़क मोडकं जस जमेल तस. एक शून्य मी वाचताना मीच पुलंच्यासमोर confess karat hote. मला जे म्हणायचय ते मी त्यांच्याशी बोलत होते, मला शब्दात मांडता येत नव्हतं ते पुलं सांगत होते आणि दरवेळी मी म्हणत होते "haa exactly मला हेच म्हणायचय"

Its an agony, that I have to write the review of a book, of the best writer in Marathi( my mother tongue) in English.

I will write my next review on marathi book in marathi for sure.

This is one of the best work of P L Deshpande. The more you read his book more you love him and his writing.

The best chapters that i loved and learnt from is
-
"Sanskaar"

"Chan pikat janare mhatarpan"
And.
" Dharma Andhashradha ni tumhi Amhi"

This book is not just story telling but, the sketch of many lives and insight.

You will not only enjoy it while reading, but, here there is much to be learnt from..

This one is fantastic read. Thoughtful and highly intellectual insight of Pu LA can be felt right from page one. The chapters I liked the most are Gandhi, Time managment of Gandhi, Ladakh tour, How to behave when you are senior citizen, sanskar, Marathi manus etc.

Those who love such topics can go for it.
