Young children will enjoy learning the names of trucks, in this large, truck-shaped board-book that features one hundred different kinds of trucks complete with busy male and female workers in action-packed scenes.
This book is a useful tool for teaching students about various work trucks. It goes over 100 types of work trucks. Also students can begin to figure out that a truck is not just a large vehicle. It can be a smaller forklift or a camping van. This can broaden a students vocabulary, as many of these trucks are named after their function. You could even do an activity after where you show images of trucks and have students try to recall their names.
Generally, a great truck book. William liked it immediately. in preparation for it to arrive from interlibrary loan, I tried to name 100 trucks. I came up with 45 ideas only 37 of which were correct. I thought some of the trucks in the book were too similar. But, other than that, my only criticism would be that the pictures are small. I liked the way the trucks were shown working in full page spreads though and how they were grouped.
