I never thought I’d fall for my dad’s best friend until a random scheduling conflict brought us together.
All I wanted was to get away for a bit and make a fresh start.
Dad invited Nathan to our beach house so he could get away for a little while. What dad didn’t realize is that we would both be there at the same time.
I hadn’t seen Nathan in years but he was still as hot as I always remembered. Even if he is almost double my age.
But I’m not that teenager from years ago anymore. There is an instant attraction that neither of us can deny. And the chemistry between us is undeniable.

This is one for the books!
Coincidental meetings occur to push forward this love story, combined with some hesitation, prejudice, and of course, some diabolical plot twists towards the end.
I loved how deep, emotional, steamy and romantic, and diabolical this novel had become, with excellent character developing (although I felt sometimes things were resolved a little too easily), steam, romance, family bonding, existential crises of a middle aged life, and not to trust into quick rich schemes.
I enjoyed reading this pleasant and lovely billionaire romance novel. This type of romantic novels is my favourite and I always enjoy reading them.
I liked the main characters and California as a setting for this novel. I could picture the struggles of the main character, as I did dance training for 14 years when I was younger. It didn’t lead to anything professional but I have always loved dancing, reading about dancers and watching dance films.
I cannot wait to read more novels by the author in the future. I’m giving this novel 4 stars as I’m sure other readers will enjoy it too.
Life got to be too much for each of them, and Nathan and Harlow were ready to get away from it all and recover. So Harlow headed for the family beach house. Simultaneously, Harlow’s dad, Carl, offered the beach house to his best friend, Nathan Mayhew, because he truly needed to get away for a little while. Neither Nathan nor her dad were aware of the timing repercussions on that decision.
Not having seen Nathan for quite a few years, Harlow still found him attractive. Apparently Nathan took notice of Harlow as well! Would the two of them give this short time together a try? Would they be blindsided by the fact they would want so much more? And how would her father react to the two of them having a relationship?
The two of them decided to go talk to Harlow’s dad and talk about how much they loved each other. He needed to know and they wanted him to be accepting of their relationship. She expected a few awkward moments, but they could work it out. They knocked on the door and Janice Smithee, once her babysitter and now an old and dear friend, let them in – and she was holding a gun on Carl. Carl had cost her $50,000 in what she now considered a scheme and he was flat broke and unable to repay her. He was still asking her to trust him. And then he lunged at Janice and the gun went off . . .
I'll start by saying the writer did a wonderful job with this story. I found this to be told quite nicely and its also a bit different from other 'Dad's best friend -Older guy younger woman' romance. I felt this was a bit unique and I totally couldn't stop reading, well except to go have a rest at night. The author touched on Insta Love, deep emotions where the characters were feeling depressed and even loss of hope. With a change of scenery and bumping into each other, a new direction came into play and hope sparked through, making the characters form of flight or play intriguing. I like that the author made the young woman the highlight of the story - there was a bit of a strong woman vibe despite her self doubt and disappointed feeling. She wanted the guy and she didn't make it easy for him. He liked her and he didn't want to upset her dad and their friendship but he couldn't deny that he saw her in a different light. Felt a bit like reality, so that was a good thing. All in all, I like this story and felt it was worth the read.

Where do I begin? I love a good age gap romance so was looking forward to reading it. It's a story about a man called Nathan who had lost his wife a couple of years ago in a freak accident and a girl called Harlow who had turned her back on life in New York feeling let down by her boyfriend and a vicious put down at a dance audition. Nathan was a good friend of Harlow's father who had told him that he was welcome to use a family property by the sea. Harlow was heading to the same place to relax and unwind. Nathan hadn't seen Harlow since she was a little girl and was pleasantly surprised when he saw her. Harlow was surprised to see Nathan, she had had a crush on him in the past. It wasn't long before they acted on their mutual desire. Now, I have read many 'love' scenes, some better than others, but I have never read anything like the interaction between Harlow and Nathan. I found them very awkward and have never read so many odd words to describe body parts. They went on for pages and I had to skip past some of it because to be honest I couldn't take it seriously. Harlow has been struggling to find work as a dancer so her Dad suggests she takes some time out to relax at their house by the sea in California. He had also offered the place to his best friend Nathan, who had lost is wife two years before but was still struggling with life.
They find themselves there at the same time and Harlow still finds Nathan attractive. With Nathan noticing her as a woman now they begin spending time together and the relationship quickly builds. The question is, how will her father react and will he accept them as a couple?
There are unexpected twists in this; a steamy, fun read.

Harlow and Nathan bump into each other when they both needed a break and go to the same cabin owned by Harlow's father. While there they act on their attraction towards each other and decide to talk with his best friend (her father) about their relationship. Unfortuanltey, something happens to complicate all their lives. This story was great, full of suspense, intrigue, steamy chemistry and love.

An absolute joy to read! The description of Harlow dancing touches the heart and the scenes with Harlow and Nathan are heartwarming and grand. Hayes has a way with structuring her story that pull the reader in from the very beginning and keeps them enthralled to the very end. Well worth the download and time spent reading it.
I enjoyed reading this book. It captured my attention from the beginning. I couldn’t wait to see how it would end. Look forward to reading more from the author.
