I can't believe this hasn't been reviewed yet. This book really touched me. As a person who has had problems with cutting in the past, I felt like this book was directed towards me. (spoiler) Even though Sara wasn't real, it still brought back very strong memories and emotions of a girl that greatly affected my life for the better. She also came from a dark place in her life and we helped each other see that there IS light at the end of the tunnel, there is hope to keep us going. I know that sou ...more

Full disclosure, I grabbed this ebook when it was free.

This was engaging enough for me to keep going, but while I was reading, I honestly actually thought this was a memoir. This book seriously needs an editor. Some errors that I was willing to forgive when I thought it was a memoir became more frustrating when I realized this is a work of fiction. According to the author, the book is "... not autobiographical, it is still a very personal story..."

I will say that I enjoyed Willow's journey. It

Technically 4.5 stars, but I prefer to round up when it is worthy.

Alone will be viewed in a variety of ways depending on the reader and their past experiences in life. Those who have harmed themselves in the past or those who know people who have harmed themselves will connect stronger with the main character, Willow, much more than someone like myself who has never known (to my knowledge) anyone who has done this to themselves. Having never known a cutter, I could sympathize with all that Willo

'Alone' is an excellent book. A true book about how alone we all can feel at times. Willow is an amazing character. I loved how the author had a story to tell that I would be so touched by. The impact we can have on people without realizing it is profound. Not a sappy story, just a well written story that will surely touch you in some aspect. I'm sure I'll read 'Alone' again. I love it. An awesome book. Definitely recommended

Though not perfect, this book was a wonderful read. I liked the storyline and way that the author ended it. I also loved the emotion that went into this and the genuinity of the characters. I didn't find anything very surprising about the storyline though and had it figured out pretty quickly. I had a hard time with the lack of dialog during portions of the story. Worth the read.

I thought it was a good book... However, I read a book a couple of years ago called Willow and she cut herself in the book so.. not sure where the editor was in catching that. It great that the author can draw you into her world!

Story didn't even get interesting until halfway through. The misspellings and grammatical errors were appalling. Reading this was more of a chore than anything.
