Trying to take over

C. K. Trigger writes about a town and a gang trying to take over. Combine that with a drifter who becomes a deputy and you have an interesting story.

not gay romance

I usually review mm romance, but Letter of the Law (not an mm romance) is a classic Western I couldn't pass up, especially after Book Utopia Mom's glowing review. And most especially with its fresh twist on a classic plot: "There's only one person in town brave enough to step in and take over for the sheriff when he's shot, and that's his wife."

Outlaws shoot the sheriff. While he struggles to recover, his wife Delight works to hide the gravity of his condition from the townsfolk.
