A Thanksgiving dinner fundraiser has the country club elite ready to open their wallets—but for one member, it will be their last supper. My name is Hattie Holiday, and I can read minds—I can also bake a mean pumpkin pie. Sure people have all kinds of rouge thoughts running around up there, but I’m far more interested in using my special abilities to talk to my cat Cricket and our new friend Rookie, an adorable Golden Retriever that happens to belong to a certain ornery detective. My new job at the Country Club has landed me an entire slew of new friends who insisted I join an exclusive book club. But there’s something about the members that doesn’t sit quite right with me. A deadly secret is percolating from within and just my luck—I glean a little too much murderous knowledge to keep myself off the hit list. And as it stands—that deadly secret is finally about to be exposed. Every socialite is on notice. And they will do anything not to get caught. And don’t get me started on the secrets that Detective Maddox is harboring—but I’m about to expose his every last lie. Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie abound. Thanksgiving might be right around the corner but so is a killer. Living in Brambleberry Bay can be a real killer. It’s so cozy its criminal.

I got four chapters in before I just couldn't anymore with this book. Every woman introduced seems to be in heat. Either dressed slutty or ready to pounce on the nearest man. Even the lady who died dies while doing some crazy lap dance to some else's love interest at a benefit gala. Then they make jokes how now they can have all the men. I'm sorry, but gag me with a spoon. I'm done.
This was cute! I love a good cozy mystery. It did feel a little rushed at times and like all of a sudden with no real explanation the mystery was solved. Overall, a cute quick read.
In honor of the Thanksgiving theme of this book, I have to jump to dessert first. I laughed out loud when they caught Honey's killer and she was upset about getting caught being an embarrassment to her family. LOL...do the crime so do the time. The real reason I brought this up is as an example of how fun the characters are in this book. Books with animals are very high on my list of books I enjoy but imagine being able to hear their thoughts. I look at my dog and wish she could talk. Oh to be more like Hattie from the book. Her special gift gets her into trouble. The first party at the country club set the tone for the entire book - murder and easy dropping right into your thoughts and Hattie helping with the investigation. The characters were great because they were such an eclectic mix. I thought the secret and the overshadowing investigation into Minx was a great addition to the story. The ending was neat. Also neat is the link between others series by Addison and this one. It is like a call out to an old friend. Addison's cozy mysteries are good and interesting. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

Hattie Holiday is the Event Planner at Brambleberry Bay Country Club, and the wealthy are gathering there for a Thanksgiving dinner fundraiser. One of Hattie’s skills is the ability to read minds so she can talk with Cricket, her cat, and with Rookie, the Golden Retriever whose human is her boyfriend, Detective Killion. So for this big event, Hattie is working at the Country Club, but something is going on. She hears someone wishing someone was dead, but she can’t identify the thought’s owner. When Honey Thompson is poisoned at the event, and Hattie’s boyfriend Killion is assigned to the case, they need to fit the pieces together to find the killer. Hattie of course feels entitled to help since the crime occurred at her event! Will an old mystery shed some light on this one? Or will it just make it more complex?
This author always gives us the best books with characters we already love and pets that “steal the show”. This story had a little quirk that made it even more interesting! Grab your copy and join in the search for the murderer!
The Thanksgiving auction is underway at the Brambleberry Country Club. Despite a minor issue with some flying pies, things seem to be going well. Hattie is picking up some unpleasant thoughts from the crowd around a wealthy socialite. So it comes as no surprise when she drops dead on the dance floor. Hattie uses her psychic skills to ferret out clues while her cat Cricket argues with Killion’s dog, Rookie. She also is determined to get to the bottom of the old mystery surrounding the book club members and their boarding school days. Killion’s thoughts keep drifting to a secret he’s hiding as well. How will that effect his and Hattie’s burgeoning relationship?
With her trademark humor and descriptive writing style, Ms. Moore weaves another fun and fast paced mystery. The antics of the pets are sure to please and the descriptions of food will have your mouth watering. As some secrets are put to rest, more questions arise leaving plenty more to discover in Brambleberry Bay.

Hattie Holiday is the Event Planner for the Brambleberry Bay Country Club, social home to the local wealthy socialites and their even wealthier husbands. The event this evening is the "Thanks for Supper" Fundraiser. The goal of the fundraiser is to ensure that needy families will have a Happy Thanksgiving dinner. To make that happen, there's going to be a Silent Auction with fabulous jewelry and other donated items. Hattie can hear thoughts of others close to her which makes her "telesensual". Tonight, she hears someone thinking "I wish she was dead" but can't distinguish who it was. Unfortunately, there's a death. Hattie's boyfriend Killian, a detective, is in charge of the investigation. And what a complicated investigation it is, tying the present mystery to a missing person in the past. I'm sure you'll enjoy this book as much as I did. I'm already looking forward to their next adventure.

If you are a sleuth like Hattie Holiday, it helps if you are able to read minds like she can but unless she is talking with the person it’s hard to tell who the thoughts belong to. When someone dies at the posh Brambleberry Bay Country Club Thanksgiving dinner fundraiser, it seems like a lot of people had reasons to want the victim dead. It would be nice if she could tell Detective Killion, her good-looking boyfriend, how she gets her information but he doesn’t believe in magic and his thoughts tell her he is hiding his own secrets.
Old murderers or new murderers - they are all dangerous. The humor, danger, and magic make for another interesting mystery. I like that Hattie is also able to hear animal thoughts so she can talk to Cricket and Rookie. I can’t wait to try the recipes included at the back of the book. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
Thanksgiving in Brambleberry Bay comes with a side of murder. The Thanksgiving fundraiser at the country club is in full swing until someone decides that a guest should be murdered. Honey isn’t loved by many but who wants her dead and why? Hattie, Killion, Cricket and Rookie are on the case.
This is one of my favorite series. The characters are some of the best in any book. They’re all written so you know who is who even if the names aren’t mentioned. Love love love that Killion is finally opening up to Hattie and shares the secret he’s been keeping. And I’m happy that the mystery that involves the book club ladies was solved. I was so surprised by the revelation! Can’t wait for more on that storyline.
If you like a great story, light romance and talking animals, you will love this series. It’s one of the best I’ve ever read in the cozy mystery genre.

Hattie Moore is now in an exclusive book club. She has a cat called Cricket ( quirky name for a cat) , oh and she can read minds… Event planner for Brambleberry Bay Country Club . There’s a Thanksgiving fundraising event , where she hears someone wishing a person dead . She can’t determine who thought it though and of course it doesn’t necessarily mean it would happen, except, well there’s a murder! Her boyfriend Killion is chief investigator on the case, so of course the amateur sleuth gets to help out with her gift, along with Cricket and not forgetting a certain detective’s dog Rookie .And what does this hot mystery have to do with a cold case missing person? Great town with quirky characters , this is book three of a series and so the characters have evolved into friends for me , the writing is so immersive. Look forward to the next story already.

Handbook for Homicide is the third book in the Brambleberry Bay Murder Club series. Even though this book is parking a series it can be read as a standalone without feeling lost. But when read in order the stories build on the storyline and character development. This series focuses on Hattie Holiday. Hattie just recently started working at the country club and has made a habit of finding bodies since she started. But that isn’t her only quark, she can read minds. Not all minds and not all the time. But this quark has come in handy to help her kind the killers, although the very good looking detective isn’t to happy about her involvement. This story has a lot going on in this book so you won’t get bored. We watch Hattie dive deeper into the past and how her predecessor died by also solving a very cold case and current case. She was very busy much to Killion’s dismay. But at the end of the day she solved the mystery and survived.
There are plenty of Halloween and Christmas themed books but just like movies, Thanksgiving cozies are few and far between so I was excited to pick this one up after Halloween.
Coming in a little late in the game with Book 3, it took me a little while to figure out some of the thoughts she was "reading" was actually animals so was a bit confused at first.
Once I figured out who was human and who wasn't, it flowed a little better and was able to sink my teeth into the mysteries itself, yes mysteries as this one was related to one from years ago.
Overall, a great Thanksgiving cozy centered around a holiday that is often overlooked.

To my mind, the animals absolutely stole the show in this book. No matter that their people were “technically” the leading couple, Cricket and Rookie were the real stars. However, I had all kinds of fun watching as Hattie landed herself up to her eyebrows in trouble once again. Though she did manage to solve not one but two mysteries with her intrepid snooping skills. And while the solution to one of them might not have been a complete surprise to me, the other was a total shocker. Now that that ghost is no longer hanging over their heads, I can’t wait to see what shenanigans Hattie and Killian get up to next. Though, perhaps I should say: what shenanigans Killian has to fish Hattie, Cricket and Rookie out of. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book through Booksprout.
Hattie works for the country club and is at a function. Her boyfriend, Killion, a detective. As they wander the party a woman guest dies. Hattie, being the little investigator she is, starts looking for clues. She finds some. The next day she shares with Killion. Now they are working to find out who killed the woman and why. Added to this is an old mystery from years before where Killion thinks he may have been inadvertantly used in a murder cover up. Will the two be able to figure out who, why and how before the killer comes a calling. Fantastic mystery with lots of yummy food thrown in to make the reader hungry for both.

Hattie Holiday has many talents, an event planner at the country club, a book club enthusiast, a mind reader, and a corpse magnet-- not just any corpse, but a murdered one. Not only that, she's a pretty good detective much to the chagrin of her newly minted boyfriend, Detective Killion Maddox. When a murder occurs at the Thanksgiving dinner fundraiser at the country club, Hattie will put on her sleuthing hat to uncover who of the elite and posh guests might have killed one of their own. Hattie will also try to solve a cold case that after "hearing" internal musings, Killion might have been involved. Hold on to your sweet potatoes and turkey, as Hattie rides this rollercoaster of Thankfulness and Gratitude to solve a side or two of murder.
This is such a cute series, and I have been enjoying reading Hatties adventures since working at the Brambleberry Bay Country Club. Another murder happened during one of her events, and she is determined to figure out who the murderer is… even though her pseudo-boyfriend/detective would rather have her very far away from it! But he doesn’t know that Hattie has a secret power – she can read minds which can help her find clues even better. She and her friends have to find the murderer before they strike again!
Really loved reading this story!

Hattie is the event coordinator for the local country club Thanksgiving fundraiser. During her event, one of the attendees is poisoned. She, with her cadre of animals and her detective boyfriend, take it upon themselves to sleuth out the truth. In addition, she has some mind-reading abilities which give her an edge in discovering the clues. Ultimately, they end up solving two mysteries, one current and one cold-cased. This is an enjoyable cozy mystery.

Hattie Holiday has put together a Thanksgiving fundraiser at the country club to benefit the underprivileged residents of Brambleberry Bay. The guest list was comprised of the wealthy elite members of the country club. Right in the middle of the dinner one of the wealthiest members drops dead! Hattie just has to get in the middle of investigating! Her mind reading ability and her ability to talk to the pets will keep you in stitches! Everyone has secrets but who is the killer? Fun read for the Thanksgiving season! You'll love these quirky characters!
Handbook for Homicide is Book 3 of Bramble-berry Bay Murder Club mystery series written by Addison Moore. This book has it all! Mysterious things going on, a list of culprits if you will, humor, flirty romance. I’m sure you will enjoy this book as much as I did. You most certainly can read it as a standalone, but I think you will enjoy it more for the better if you get the chance to read the entire series. Million and Hattie are made for each other and a perfect crime solving duo.

I loved this book just as much as I loved the first two in this series. I actually kept checking kindle unlimited to see when it would drop because I couldn’t wait to read it. I can’t get enough of Hattie, Killion, their furry companions, the country club and the murder club, and the murders that seem to happen every time. I’m excited to keep reading to see how Hattie and Killion’s romance unfolds and to see what secrets she uncovers through her talent. I can’t wait for the Christmas book in the series. As long as Addison Moore keeps writing books for this series, I’ll continue to read them.
Twists abound in this newest addition to the murder club. Hattie has her hands full with another homicide at the club. And a hot homicide detective. I enjoyed the way the book developed and revealed multiple secrets. Recommend for anyone looking for an amazing book to read.

psychic with some crazy pets, an odd collection of friends, and a new job with events planning at a country club that seems to be lethal to some members
pasts and present collide, with murderous intent
can she sift through the clues in time to survive?
a bit of sweet romance, some whodunnit, and lots of crazy - fun reading
I love this quirky series. I wish I had Hattie's unusual ability, even if it does make her doubt her feelings for Killion as they once again investigate a murder and a cold case as well as get involved in all the Thanksgiving mayhem in the town. I really like Hattie and Killion's characters. Very enjoyable.
Good food, Holiday festivities, and characters that make you smile... nothing else is needed. However, throw in the mystery of murder and the mindreading ability Hattie has and this story is one that will make you want to read it more than once. I loved it and look forward to seeing what comes next.

Hattie has found another body. The Thanksgiving fundraiser had an additional surprise when a body falls. Hattie had heard some rather unpleasant feelings towards the now dead woman. Now, she has to figure out how to salvage the fundraiser and find the one who did it.
Another solid read in this series. I liked all the holiday vibes. There were two mysteries solved in this one, though I did prefer the past one compared to the present. It was fast paced once more, and I enjoyed even if it wasn’t my favorite in the series.

Another murder to solve for Hattie can she do it before Thanksgiving? I did feel as though the other murder mystery was getting in the way a bit but it all worked out in the end. A Brambleberry Thanksgiving.
