Trusting another man with her heart may take time, but thankfully he has the patience.
The man Morgan trusted with her heart wrecked her. He diminished her dreams, belittled her accomplishments, and mocked her success. When she found the strength to leave him, she had nothing left to give.
It was always Cody's dream to return to his alma mater to teach, and when given the opportunity he never imagined he'd run into her on the very campus where they met.
Although she was still the same beautiful girl she was over a decade prior - she wasn't as vibrant, there was something missing. He didn't care how long it took, he was determined to help her find what she lost.
Love is Patient is a Contemporary Christian Romance.
Content Warning: This story includes details around domestic abuse. I acknowledge that this detail may be difficult. I also encourage you to care for your safety and well-being first and foremost.
Cute. We meet Morgan who is utterly broken after an abusive relationship. Not thinking about dating, she reconnects with Cody, a former classmate from college. I appreciated the friendship between Morgan and Cody, while he subtly pursued her. Cody was truly the definition of patience and persistence. I enjoyed this book even tho it was beyond a slow burn. I love that there wasn't a lot of “Christianese” in it. It made the story much more real. 3.8⭐️
3.5 Stars I enjoyed the story. The characters were real and imperfect. The only thing I did not like was how the characters, who are working on their relationship with God, shared a bed before marriage. There is no detail to what happened in the bedroom, but being a "Christian" romance, this is sin and I would have liked for at least the male character to have been stronger.
Giving this a solid 4.75-star rating. I can't give it a full five-star rating as it's not something that will stick with me forever, but this was an impeccable read!! I loved the writing and how Faith weaved in those aspects of faith so well. Her use of the 1 Corinthians 13 Scripture on love and what is was well done. I was blown away by the romance and how clean, yet raw and authentic it was. It shows a real side for some believers and how tough it can be but how you can also get past the temptation.
I loved Morgan! Her growth from the beginning to the end of the story was so evident. I felt like she was a real woman learning about love, herself, and rediscovering her connection to God. Cody was the epitome of patience. His heart was pure and I loved his consistency.
I would love to see a story about Ava and Matthew (their best friends) and maybe even a romance for Mia, Morgan's sister. Even Morgan's mother and seeing her grow was amazing.
This book does touch on the topic of domestic abuse, but it does so in an informative and great way. I truly enjoyed the prayers shared and the insight that Cody's parents shared with him.
Overall, I loved this book and look forward to continuing the trilogy and reading more from Faith Arceneaux.
Reflecting on the book from chapters 1 to 25, we see a beautifully written narrative though I felt it lacked depth in those initial chapters. However by chapter 26, the story takes an unexpected turn with the characters going to a beach and sharing a room. This perplexes me as it contradicts the guidance to "abstain from all appearance of evil" and the principle to "submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Please, do not encourage putting believers in such compromising situations, as it can lead to actions they might regret. Overall, this book did not meet my expectations and fell flat despite the high hopes I had for it.
Disappointed that the book promotes sex outside of marriage as it simultaneously attempts to promote Christianity. It is ok to show a couple practicing abstinence even if unpopular in today’s world. I think the author is afraid to do so and for that reason I won’t continue to read her books. I pray she fully embraces displaying God’s Way and not the lukewarm way of the world.
Wow, what an incredible read! Love is Patient truly captivated me from start to finish. As a married woman, this story made me even more grateful for the husband I have. The book reminds readers of the profound importance of having a partner who genuinely pours love and kindness into your life. It’s heart-wrenching to think about how many women may remain in unhealthy relationships, mistakenly believing they are experiencing love when, in reality, love should never lead to abuse.
One of the standout elements of this story is Cody’s character. His gestures of kindness and the words he speaks into Morgan are nothing short of heartwarming. Cody embodies what it means to be a God-fearing man, showing how powerful and transformative love can be when it’s grounded in faith and respect.
Overall, I absolutely loved every minute of this book. It left me with a renewed sense of gratitude for the love I have in my own life and a deeper understanding of what true, healthy love really means. If you’re looking for a beautiful, uplifting story, Love is Patient is a must-read!
I loved seeing how Morgan was grown and got stronger after a tough relationship. Cody, who's had a crush on her since college, is super supportive. He gives her space to heal and waits patiently until she's ready to take things to the next level. It's a sweet story of love and patience!
Morgan walks into a coffee shop near her job, feeling broken, battered, and bruised. She never expected to run into Cody, her long-time crush, when he returned to Greensboro to work at their old university. Unbeknownst to them, fate is about to start changing their lives for the better.
This was my first read by this author, and I can’t wait to read more from her! I love romance novels, and it’s refreshing to find an author who writes clean romance that’s still really enjoyable.
I was sitting in church and heard God whisper. I had been reading a lot of spicy books and been wrestling with whether God was pleased with that, I made excuses saying that I was reading for the story, but in actuality, I was allowing lust into my heart. So when God whispered, “Will you give them up for me?” In that moment, I asked God to take my taste for the spicy books away, went home and put the book I was reading on the shelf. I then looked up Christian Romance books and came across this one. Oh my goodness! Such a great read, beautifully written and certainly in alignment with God’s word! I’m about to read the second one now! Worth the read!!!
It took me a while to finish this book, I must admit. Not because it was bad, but because our new age of romance novels rushed intimacy. We’re 10 short chapters into a 35 chapter novel, and the main characters are already a couple. But that wasn’t the case here.
27 chapters of a developed love story proved that timing is everything, and good things are worth waiting for.
I don’t know if this is my first book by this author but I enjoyed it. The story of healing, restoration and patience was woven through out the book. One thing I didn’t expect was for the epilogue to be 3 years later. Cody is definitely what you call patient. Lol!
This was a good book! I liked how accurate Morgan’s struggle after leaving an abusive relationship was. The rediscovering of her faith in God and learning to love herself again was beautiful to see. Cody’s character was wonderful and heart-warming. The only thing that prevented me from giving this book 5 stars is the fact that Cody and Morgan spent the night together and even hinted at having sex before marriage, while they are both professing Christians. That is an issue for me, even if they are consenting adults. While not smut was written, I felt that did not belong in this story.

Oh, if you want to read a super sweet love story that will speak to your inner trust issues, and hopeless romantic side…this is for you. I was absolutely so impressed with the POV’s in this piece and how the characters were developed. Both characters grew, and learned about themselves while staying true to their beliefs and honoring God.
I loved the breaking of cycles in this piece, and the statement of choosing yourself before choosing anyone else or trying to love someone before you love yourself. which is SO IMPORTANT as Christian women to see, in a romance so pure. No matter what you must love yourself first, your man of God will wait while you learn yourself. LOVED that aspect.
The chemistry in this piece was sobering as even though the characters were abstinent and this is a clean romance, the attraction between the two characters were so very clear. It made this feel much more realistic, and I think most definitely would help with the taboos around attraction in Christian dating. The characters also spent the night with each other, which may be odd to readers but I think the author did her best navigating any temptation that would occur. The characters knew their boundaries and never pushed them. They both were pretty good at self control, the lead male especially. Would love a second book to this because I just loved the characters together.
Tropes: Second chance romance, friends to lovers, slow burn, CLEAN chemistry

This was a very cute story. Morgan is a young woman who is just getting out of a very toxic relationship. Cody is a young man who go has just moved back to North Carolina to teach at his alma mater. When they were in college together they were friends. Cody might have wanted more but Morgan was dating someone, so he accepted his roll as friend.
Now years later they meet at a coffee shop and their paths continue to cross. Cody again wants more but can tell it’s not the right time, at first he isn’t sure why it’s not, but he knows it’s just not. Morgan has decided that now that she is out of this toxic relationship it’s time to get back to her. She starts going back to church and fixing her relationship with God. One that she let her ex get in between. She also gets back into dance, which is something she has always loved. As she finds her way back to herself and to God she also realizes that what or who she wants is Cody.
Cody is the best kind of guy. He’s patient, kind, understanding and not afraid to fight to protect what / who he wants. His relationship with God has made him the kind of guy every woman wants but not every woman knows how to handle.
I think everyone should read this book. It reiterated to me how important it is to have a relationship with god.

My Thoughts:
It was beautiful to read how Morgan and Cody met up again after ten years. Morgan had been in an awful, abusive relationship with Elijah, and she finally saw it was time to let him go. Also, she had let God go in her relationship with her ex. Meeting back up with Cody was good for her because he was a man with patience and loved God and Morgan. How will this all work out? The one thing I didn't like was that I felt that Elijah should have gotten some punishment for how he treated Morgan...but that's my story.
To find out how things worked out for Morgan and Cody, you will have to pick up this good read to see how God was there and worked so well with the situation that was going on with Morgan in bringing her back to God's will. Also, the part with Morgan's mother was interesting in how that situation was finally turned around. I will stop here and say pick up 'Love Is Patient' and see how well this author brings it all out for Morgan and Cody.
I detest the cover illustration but the contents on the pages there in are good-stuff. This novels includes some domestic abuse, and thankfully our young lady finally figured it out and gets away. The experience leaves her lacking confidence and very broken. But in what some calls coincidences, thru God’s providence, she is enabled to overcome. Morgan is able to eventually become an inspiration to her own mother who has dismissed the harms of domestic abuse.
Cody Felix-the type of character we wish all our daughters could find in real life. He’s a man of men, and I like him. , Educated, Patient, caring, empathetic, trustful, honorable, respectful, loves the Lord, and has great relationship with his parents.
Will Cody truly have the patience to walk this painful journey with Morgan? Will she be able to trust herself to love again?
An excellent read. Verbal and physical abuse can be hard to escape. There are all kinds of reasons why women stay in these kinds of relationships. As in this story, there was a cycle of abuse, and even though the protagonist grew up in a home such as this and hated it, she failed to heed the warning signs and subsequently found herself in a similar situation. It deals with hurt, anger, and struggle to find God again amid all the pain, love herself, become whole, and understand what true love entails. All good things come from God, just have to be patient.
I loved how it shows that despite what we go through in life God always has a plan what we see as coincidence is actually his handiwork. It also shows that even when we stay he's still waiting right there for us and that even in our storms he is with us. The love story is beautiful and inspiring showing that God's plan is always greater than our and how at the core of any relationship he should be the head. Men with God in there hearts are different they speak different care different God grants them patience. Bravo will definitely recommend and be checking out more of her books.
Disappointed, the male lead gave stalker ex in the making vibes, I couldn’t finish the book. The way he obsessed over her since college and didn’t truly know or have any real reason to be so in love with her at current time, only mesmerized by the idealization of what she previously was, even though the previous friendship was shallow as well.
Then his constant territorial act and overly affectionateness felt like love bombing when she just broke up with her boyfriend and is clearly in a vulnerable place that she clung to him. It just felt like a bad situation in the making. I felt like I was watching the beginnings of a lifetime movie.
This was my first time reading from this author, but not my last! Faith Arceneaux, awesome book! I loved reading this book and the message I got behind it! God is so awesome all the time! We will always have trouble in our life but putting God first, we will make it through whatever we are faced with! Cody's faith was amazing, and his prayers was just what Morgan needed. When Morgan started putting God back in her life, and started back loving herself, her life got better, she got the peace and happiness, she had been searching for!
What a wonderful book on love. Loving God through every situation and waiting for who God has for you, as Cody did. He was patient, loving, kind, gentle, longsuffering (all of the fruits of the Spirit). God rewarded him and rewarded Morgan. Faith (the author) used these fruits and more to show all of us what God wants for us in a relationship. This book also addressed domestic violence, and I pray anyone going through such a situation reaches out to someone trustworthy and gets help. Excellent book again by Faith Arceneaux. Thank you.
What can I say but OMG! Literally typing as I cry, not because I'm sad, but because I'm so in love with the love that Morgan and Cody shared. He was so gentle, kind, caring, patient, and so loving with Morgan throughout the entire book, and he really exemplifies what it is I want in a husband! I wished he was real! It's so heartwarming that he is such an amazing person, and that God saw it fit to have him be with her. This book made me "awwweee" and deepened a longing in my heart. Thank you so much for writing this beautiful story!
The book was good until the last few chapters. I didn't like the implication that they would have sex before marriage. Not at all what I expect from a Christian Romance. We aren't perfect and I've crossed lines that I shouldn't. However I was hoping when they went on the trip they would have two separate rooms, nope. The reason for them not having sex in that moment was because she wasn't ready, not because God says we should wait. I wasn't clear as I finished the book if they truly waited to be intimate until marriage.

I liked the concept of the book, but it didn't really show the reality of the abuse she went through. I can't believe that the ex only showed up only once to get her back or try to do something else to her.
It also took too long for Morgan and Cody to get together after she got herself into a good headspace. Even though the book wasn't about her mom, there wasn't any closure to that part of the story.
This was a moving romance story. Old friends reuniting and becoming one. Cody had the patience of Job, waiting on God for the desire of his heart. I loved that Morgan reconnected with God and worked on her relationship with Him while working on herself. She realized that she had lost herself in her prior relationship and was carrying too much baggage. This story had a powerful message. It was my first read by this author and I look forward to finishing the series.
Wow this Christian romance was so beautifully written. It really expounded on Christ's description of love as written in Corinthians 13. Morgan had endured so much and with life happening she had closed off some areas of life off. But with one prayer, she allowed God to work on her. While going through the process, the sun's rays allowed her to see Cody. A romance bloomed full of prayer and patience- this this story.
“Dear God, thank you for being loving, compassionate, caring, and treating me better than I ever treated myself. Please forgive me for anything I’ve done that jeopardizes the person you want me to be. For the woman I am, the woman who I’d lost touch with, thank you for allowing me to find her. For allowing me to trust her, love her, and treat her how I should be treated. Like you treat me...”
I don’t even have the words. Such a beautiful story with powerful messages 🥹🫶🏽
I have longed to read a romance story that was clean (no foul language, sexual or explicit behavior) and Faith nailed it! I experienced the emotions alongside the characters and most importantly, God was all over this! The story lines were well written. Nothing was dragged out.
I need more! I want more novels from this author and I will be sharing this everywhere I go!
So this book actually exceeded my expectations. I didn’t even realize how short it was, but nothing felt rushed. While there were time gaps of a few weeks at a time, the relationship itself never seemed to be missing anything, everything flowed well & I can say I didn’t really know what to expect from a Christian romance but I really liked it. Their prayer life is so beautiful and quite refreshing tbh. So I really did enjoy that a lot. Would 100% recommend.
