This was one of my favorite books growing up especially around Christmas since it takes place on Christmas day. Anytime on Christmas when there is snow, I have always made snow ice cream. Classic Golden book.

In addition to pacing issues with the writing (feeling rushed during the actual sledding), my 3-year-old pointed out that the boy is sitting unrealistically close to the fireplace when they are warming up after being outside and is therefore in danger of being hurt by the flames. C'mon, man! Fire safety is a must. Kids notice everything.

Just shared this book with my toddler after getting quite a bit of snow at our house. This was a childhood favorite of mine. The little girl's name was close to mine, she had a big family, and a fluffy quilt on her bed. What's not to love?

With Christmas getting closer, this would be the perfect little stocking stuffer for our pint sized readers. A cute little lesson to learn on sharing, although woild have been nice to see a lesson on Christmas not being all about the gifts.
