This book was informative for the basic gardener. I found it slightly repetitive in such that it kept saying “ rake or hoe soil” and “ check growing recommendations on seed packet”. Could have been avoided by saying these details in the introduction. I enjoyed that it have different methods of growing each plant and the different ways to use them!
Some useful information for those new to gardening, but not enough in-depth information for people with some experience. I would have given it three stars, but the entry for chili peppers was just bizarre--the author implies that there are only two types of chili peppers, sweet and not-sweet, and that you should make sure to water your plants a lot. *boggles* The photographs aren't very attractive and they're also not especially useful for identification. ...more
