I think students can relate to this book. Every one has experience when they wanted to do things and been told no you are too little. The critter does learn that he can do things on his own and help is just as good.

Little Critter wants to be a big kid and be more independent. He tries to do many things with a little help from his parents. It's great for kids who want to try new things, but can't quite do it on their own. It's always fine to get help from your parents/guardians.

Little Critter wants to do various things but his mama and Daddy are constantly telling him that he's a 'little to little' and they help him with things. Although he thinks he's not. But at the end they all learn that he's perfect just as he is.

Part of Little Critter Bedtime Stories boxed set.

I'm not sure what it is about Little Critter, but my young preschooler just adores him. As in the case of most children growing al the time, skills and tasks become easier and possible, but there are still some things not meant for little people This story is told in the most simple sentences for the earliest of readers where Little Critter pushes the limits.

Another Mercer Mayer book that all my kids enjoyed. My 5 yr old just adores Mayer and requests her books constantly. I read them at the breakfast or lunch table and even my 3 yr old twins get into them. We love trying to find the mouse and spider that seems to follow the main character around, they’re always doing silly things. Fun engaging themes that any child can relate to, a great addition to any children's library.

Another fun read in the Little Critter series by Mercer Mayer. Little Critter wants to camp out in the backyard and do all things camping related all by himself. His family thinks he is just a little too little to do this just yet though.

A good way to introduce the phrase "a little too..."
