"The sunshine after the storm will be all the sweeter if you can learn to dance in the rain."

A guy walks into a bar...

Yeah, I'm sure you know the jokes. I've told more than my fair share.

Until the jokes on me - when I'm that guy.

Following the morning from hell, I'd walked into my usual haunt, ready to drown my sorrows.
Instead, I found my salvation.

Reyna Marquez.
A down-on-her-luck ex-dancer with a heart of gold and a spine of steel.

So, when I find myself in dire need of a fake girlfriend, she's the only one I want.

It's a crazy request, especially when requirements change, making her my fake wife, but she's all in.

For a time, everything is perfect.

Until lines within our arrangement begin to blur.
A heated look here. A lingering touch there.

And suddenly, what began as a lie feels more honest than anything else ever has.

But before we can ride into the sunset, dark clouds gather on the horizon, threatening to destroy everything I suddenly can't live without.

Can we make it through the storm to find our rainbow's end?

It would have been better if I had read the previous series, because of the appearance of (unknown to me) characters.

ARC Review - Releases 28th June

Alex & Reynas love story starts a new series off for @pamelaorourkeauthor and I am so excited to see where these go! I knew this one was going to be different to her Brotherhood Series, so I was a bit apprehensive about whether I'd enjoy this one as I had such high expectations after Broken Strings. Why did I ever doubt her?? Her writing is fantastic & she always hits the mark 💕

This story does differ with it being a more contemporary romance to the others & the main focus of the story is very much the love story of Reyna & Alex (Henry's brother who we first meet in Painted Truths).

I didn't really know what to expect from Reyna as a character but I absolutely loved her. She's sassy and holds her own whilst also having the patience & understanding to break through Alex's barriers. I loved the latina aspect she brings & honestly I felt like I was right there alongside with them enjoying every second as they experience it.

Alex, having already met him in previous books I had a bit of an image of him in my mind but wow, he did not turn out how I expected. He was so so swoonworthy and sweet with Reyna from the moment they meet but oh gosh his mouth does not let him down either! The spice was 🥵🥵

Everyone who knows me well on here or has been here for a while knows I am not an emotional reader AT all. Well, Pam absolutely ruined me with this one! The emotion she conveys through her storytelling had me right back to a few years ago going through the exact same situation and an absolute mess!! It was so beautifully written & I'm so glad you perservered through the tears to get through it because you did Lita proud! 💔🥹

Love seeing Alex get his happy ever after & I can't wait to see where the rest of the gangs story's lead them! I was screaming for Vaughns book in Broken Strings and having now met him further, it only makes me need it more! 💕

I really enjoyed this book, it was a lot lighter compared to the books I have been reading so it was definitely more of a calming type of book. The relationship between the two main characters were sweet however to me it was a type of insta love so if those are what you enjoy then it is definitely for you. The only thing that through me off a little was how perfect the character seemed, I prefer characters that have flaws but he was a little too perfect. Overall I give it a four star and will definitely be ready for the next book!!

Tooth-rottingly sweet and full of fluff, if you like stories like that then this would fit you but for me it was just a 3 star read.

Characters weren't explored so much. For someone who kept going on about how unloveable he was, Alex was very easy to love. Not alot of plot/story building tbh, so I wouldn't say it was fantastic.

Also, though it says u can read this as a standalone, it'd be better to read the painted series first. The author mentions alot of characters and places that were introduced in that series.

I have been DYING to read this book as soon as I heard about it.
Alex was definitely one of my favourite characters in Pam’s first series (Brotherhood).
When I saw he was getting his own book I honestly screamed YES!

This book gave me vibes of pretty woman (minus the escort)/Grey’s Anatomy (minus the doctors)/Meeting a stranger who then becomes your best friend by the end of the night (minus being drunk).

Reyna is down on her luck after a whirlwind of a week, she ends off at Molly Malones Irish Bar, and finds herself having the best time with a stranger by the name of Alex.
Reyna believes in following her gut, and that’s exactly what she does when Alex has a proposition for her.

Alex has a bombshell dropped on him when he finds out that someone video taped him, whilst in a risqué situation with three females. Now his position at DeMarco Enterprises is in jeopardy unless he can work on cleaning up his reputation. He brother Henry has an idea on how he can do this, but Alex isn’t sure he wants to follow Henry’s plan and thinks he has a better idea.

This book had me with every single word, the way that Pamela writes, and encompasses her characters is just pheromonal. It’s no secret that I am a massive fan of Pamela’s writing and this book is by far my favourite. I can’t wait for everyone to read it.

Pamela played my emotions like a puppet master, starting the new Rogue series off with a bang! Damn, Alex DeMarco was sensational.

Alex is facing a new media storm at work and told to take the afternoon, walking into a bar he is drawn to the little brunette that looks to be in the same mood as him. Reyna has been dealt a crappy hand when it came to life but had the biggest heart, she & Alex hit it off box stepping around the dancefloor, and that became the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Alex then finds himself needing a fake girlfriend though and Reynas gut tells her to agree to do it. Her intuition was always right .. even when that fake relationship turns into a marriage of convenience.

Alex wasnt looking for a relationship and didnt want one. Believing he wasnt capable of being loved because of words drilled into him by his venomous mother. He was fiercely protective of Rey front the start and had me swooning throughout the whole book. He truly cared for her happiness and convinced her she deserved the world.
The journey these two go on was breathtaking. She was quite open about her crush but rules were in place so no lines got crossed. Supporting each other at every hurdle. The trust these two had for the other. This never felt fake to me..

I cannot describe how much I adored this book. I proper belly laughed (and I prefer the newer Top gun to the original 🫢), my heart hurt for them, I got veeery hot and bothered (“time, patience, attention to detail & desire” 🥵) The Pretty Boy was a generous lover 😜

This is a beautiful story of unconditional, selfless love. Trust, healing. Finding soulmates.

"I will always be here to weather your storms. To dance in the rain and to celebrate your rainbows, Sunshine. Don't ever doubt that."

I have been looking forward to Alex’s book since meeting him in Painted Truths! And it didn’t disappoint, I cried ugly tears in parts and couldn’t stop smiling in others.

We get to see them fall in love slowly - slow burns aren’t my favourite BUT when done right and with a MMC that makes you want to drool everywhere, I barely noticed.

As with Pamela’s other books this one just makes you feel so many emotions, I feel like I’m right in the book with them. I just LOVE her writing style. Thank you so much for sending me Alex and Rey’s story to read.

The brotherhood series was so so good. I was so excited to finally read this. After finishing it I just want the next, I can’t wait for Vaughn’s book. I love the chosen family vibe these books have and can’t wait to see the series continue! Also, getting to see the brotherhood characters again is amazing!!

Loved the next series from Pamela. We have seen glimpses of Alex DeMarco in Painted Truths and this beginning story from the next series already looks to be amazing.

Helping each other out of a tight spot is meant to be just for a year but what happens when actually they were meant to meet each other and be each others person!
Reyna and Alex are couple goals. The love and support they show for each other is amazing.
Alex is a lovable rogue that just deserved the love of a good woman.

The ensemble cast of characters make me want the next book now. Even catching glimpses of the characters from The Brotherhood series.

He falls first

Forced proximity

Alex is having a bad day and goes to Molly Malone’s bar and meets Reyna who is also having a bad day. They spend hours talking and feel a connection. The next day Alex goes to work, and his brother Henry tells him he has to get fake engaged to settle the board. He goes to see Reyna and she says yes. Alex and Reyna are attracted to each other, but don’t want to cross lines. The longer they’re together the more they want. Can they be together? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing book. I absolutely love Alex and Reyna. This book has all the feels. Great supporting characters. I read this book in a day couldn’t put it down.

Unfortunately I bailed on this book around the 78% mark. I just couldn’t connect to the characters. It was weird how at that far in to the book there are these accessory characters who are making major plot impacts out of nowhere, and it really just took a turn down a road I didn’t want to continue. This book is the first in its series. But in reading the reviews I understand it’s more of a spinoff. So honestly, in reading this I felt like I was watching the short lived sitcom “Joey” starring Matt Leblanc but I never watched a single episode of Friends. I just felt lost and REALLY struggled to connect to the characters. Also if you wanted to play a drinking game with the terms “incorrigible” and “sunshine” you will black out by the 25% point 😏

Rogue Romeo (Rogues of Manhattan #1)
by Pamela O'Rourke

description

⭐⭐⭐⭐
4 Stars

If you love a billionaire, insta love romance, then you are really going to fall in love with this book. This story follows Alex (a favourite of mine: a side character from the previous series) and I couldn't wait to devour this book. He is this gorgeous dark-haired hunk that has whisky-coloured eyes, the body of a god and the heart of a savour. He was just gorgeous in this book and very true to the Alex I've known in Pam's previous series, The Brotherhood. While you don't need to read the previous series, it might be a great place to start due to knowing just how beautiful Alex is and his back history.

Reyna was a ray of sunshine in this book, quite literally. She has the biggest heart and has been brought up to care for, love and to cherish the little things. A previous dancer and doing the best she can to make the most of what she's been dealt with. Unfortunately, down on her luck and Alex was there to save her from her predicament and her life becomes a fairytale.

Alex & Reyna were a perfect match, both with the biggest hearts, lost souls and plenty of love to give. Their chance meeting was the best thing for both of them and it was insta love at first sight....well for Alex anyway. A cute story, with all the swoon you can imagine and the spice in the bedroom with Alex.....damn him as his filth mouth.

While I enjoyed this book, it wasn't love at first sight. I have loved and read all of Pam's books, and am super proud to witness first-hand her growth as an author, but this one just had something missing. I wanted more and I felt it was slightly out of reach.

Dual POV, gorgeous chapters and a swoony HEA.

4.5⭐️ “𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝. 𝐈’𝐦 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐈 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮.”

Alex is a Chief Operations Officer at DeMarco Holdings. He is reckless and trouble always finds him, so his brother wants him to get engaged and clean up his act. Alex tells his brother he already has a gf and wants to marry her. The next day he asks Reyna to be his fake girlfriend. Reyna and Alex met at a bar when they both were having a horrible day. She’s down on her luck, so she accepts.

Reyna is strong, caring, selfless, smart, kind and has a big heart. She faces many challenges, but Alex is there for his “ray of sunshine”. You will literally fall in love with all the love, support and dedication he gives Reyna. He’s so protective of her and is always trying to keep her safe. He never showed emotions before because his childhood trauma, so to see him fall for Reyna was everything.
He 1000% stole my heart.

“𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰. 𝐀𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐧 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦.”

They are attracted to each other, but don’t want to cross a line. I love that their relationship never felt fake. It was just so emotional, but also very romantic. There’s something beautiful about their connection. They were so open and vulnerable with each other. Their chemistry was also so hot. I mean Alex 🥵 I swear these two were soulmates!

If you love fake dating, billionaire, forced proximity, marriage of convenience, you should definitely add this to your tbr.

“𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝, 𝐑𝐞𝐲𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐳 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲.”

I can’t wait to meet the rest of these men in Rogue series.

If you like your reads a bit 🌶️🌶️🌶️ then look no further. This is book one in a new series by Pamela O’Rourke, Rogues of Manhattan. If this is book one I look forward to whose story comes next.

I fell in love with Alex and Reyna, both had struggled in different ways growing up. Alex had been made to feel he was worthless, that no one would ever want him, he had been told it enough times by his mother that he had believed it. Alex is in trouble with his big brother Henry, again, photos of Alex with 3 women have appeared and if the press gets hold of them that won’t look good for the company. Henry has to step in to sort things out and is not impressed with Alex, telling him he really has to sort himself out.

Reyna had wanted to dance, she was good and was doing her degree, until everything changed. She was also looking after her nana, Lita who was In an assisted living facility, as she had dementia. Reyna had a job in an insurance firm, but when the bosses son had tried to force himself on her she soon put a stop to it, but it led to her losing her job. The same day she lost her home. What was she going to do now?

So pick a copy of this book and follow the plot to see how things go with Alex and Reyna. It does get a little 🔥🔥🔥💥💥💥🌶️🌶️🌶️. Will Alex and Reyna have a happy ever after? or are they destined to not be together?

Read this before book 2 is released soon, get to know the characters I guarantee you will love them.

Having met Alex in Painted Truths as he’s Henry’s brother, he didn’t seem to be the nicest person.
But boy was I surprised as is just a darling!
Reyna has had a bad day, it’s all gone wrong for her between her job and her home, she is saved by Leonard from work who sees she’s not doing good so takes her to Darcy at Malones, an Irish bar with lots of heart.
Alex, also having a day and a half having all sorts of rumours and stories thrown out there and the board aren’t happy.
He takes some time out and heads to Malones.
What they both didn’t realise that this was all meant to be, Alex wants to cheer the pretty girl in the bar who seems out of luck and he takes in her smile and happiness when he asks her to teach him to dance.

But by chance they can help each other, what they didn’t see was the future.
Her Abula isn’t well and Alex is there, every step of the way.
I love watching the lines blur between the beautiful friendship they have moulded and the love that has grown between them. But stepping over that line is so hard when they value their friendship and the deal they have going on.

Rey is such a sweet soul. Having had her Abuela/grandmother bring her up, she has such a respect for others and doesn’t let cruel, hateful people matter to her.
And she brings the best out in Alex.

So many beautiful parts to this story.
I really enjoyed it, as I knew I would, Pamela’s writing is just superb.

Oh. My. Gosh. I can’t even begin to express how much I adored this book. “Rogue Romeo” is a spicy marriage of convenience romance that will absolutely wreck you - and then put you back together again. I loved everything about this book, it was agonizingly angsty and heartbreakingly beautiful. The two POV characters are Reyna Marquez and Alex DeMarco, two people who met by chance but who felt an instant connection with each other. Reyna is such a lovable character; she has a kind heart, a caring soul, and is extremely loyal to the people she loves. She is one of the most selfless heroines I’ve ever read about. And Alex! He spent so much time convincing himself that he wasn’t worthy of love, when that couldn’t be further from the truth. Alex doesn’t care about many people, but when he loves, he loves fiercely. Alex and Reyna’s marriage might have been staged at the beginning, but the love and respect they have for each other is most certainly real. I highly recommend!

I will give it 3.5 stars, it was enjoyable but not super waoo for me. It is your trusty marriage of convenience between a CEO who is almost losing his image to the press and a normal girl who seriously needs a fucking break in her life. I liked that he wasn't your typical asshole millionaire and that she was actually on-board with the idea; however that fact also made it so so, the lines were completely blurred since the beginning, like it did not have that usual pace of not standing each other to falling in love, sometimes it felt dragged. I don't know if I making sence actually, I liked the characters, they were fine, I just felt it to soft 😂. Also, was tired af of the phrase: I've got you sunshine, and of the nickname in general, too much in every chapter mennnnn, and tired of everything that her intuition told her, because her intuition is her greatest gift, she liked to remind us several times of that. Overall, a good reading, not my favorite but it had it's moments.

Rogue Romeo - Pamela O'Rourke

"𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏’𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒔 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒓, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰’𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖.”

This was my first Pamela book and I'm glad I finally picked her up! While it wasn't a complete homerun for me I did enjoy the story and her writing and will be continuing my journey with her books! I think my main complain was the use of the nickname, Sunshine. It was used WAY too much in one book and could have been way less to get the point across. With that being said the spice was solid and the story kept my interest.

“𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒔...𝑲𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒆𝒚𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒖𝒔.”

Fate took control of Reyna and Alex when they both had awful days and just needed a change. Alex, a fake relationship for his "image" and Reyna...a new life. Rey was sassy and is a I know what I want kind of girl and Alex doesn't realize how much he needs her kind of light in his life. Fake relationship quickly turns into more with a little bit of drama along the way of course! While this is a little insta I actually really enjoyed them falling.

“𝑰’𝒎 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆, 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆. 𝑰’𝒎 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒐 𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒆𝒓-𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈-𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒆.”

I loved this book! It's surreal, swoony, and a perfect escape from reality.

You've got to love a funny, good, and hot hero. Alex radiates golden retriever energy. I revelled in their romance. Reyna's Lita adds a nice touch to the story.

I'd have liked to read more about the dark themes in the prologue. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the next book in the series!

If you liked Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James or Very Irresistible Playboy by Lila Monroe, you'll love this billionaire romance.

I received an e-ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I think this is probably my favorite book from Pamela so far! It was so good! Here's what you get...

• Billionaire
• Marriage of convenience
• Slow burn
• Forced Proximity

I loved Alex! He was a damaged, protective, cinnamon roll, with a deliciously dirty mouth. Reyna was strong but so relatable. I loved how she followed her intuition.

The relationship was so sweet while also being amazingly spicy. There's some great sexual tension.

The story made me laugh, swoon, and even cry. I seriously didn't want to put it down once I picked it up. Definitely would recommend for any romance reader!

Overall it was a cute book. I did enjoy it. My life has been very hectic and I feel out of reading for a bit. It was cute but a little unrealistic in ways. I did get a little bored during it but again it could have been due to my life events. If you like billionaire romances Alex is not grumpy!

Rogue Romeo is the first book in a new Rogues of Manhattan series by Pamela O'Rourke. This is an amazing, heart-wrenching billionaire romance with slow-burn, fake relationship and forced proximity goodness that punched me in the feels yet produced some laughs too. Rogue Romeo is a fabulously executed story and a completely another take on a marriage of convenience trope that author impeccably narrated and more than delivered. Once you start reading this book, you won't want to stop - it's how phenomenal it is. With every page, story gets more intriguing and has reader rooting for the happy ending. This is my first time reading a book by Pamela O'Rourke and I loved every second of it. It certainly won't be the last because I was captivated from start to finish.

Alex is a Chief Operations Officer at entertainment giant, DeMarco Holdings. Alex is kind of an enigma and has many layers: he is charismatic, funny, generous, playful, charming, accomplished and kind. He can be very protective especially of the people he cares about and Reyna, thoughtful, yet impulsive - a bit reckless; he is broken with a heart of gold and doesn't lower his walls easily.
Reyna is an Admin Assistant at Freemont Insurance and ex-ballerina. Reyna is intuitive, strong, caring, selfless, loyal, determined, a true ray of sunshine, sassy, talented, smart. She is very resilient and compassionate, a genuine hard working person, rational, self-reliant and kind. Reyna is down on her luck so when Alex makes an offer to her, she accepts relying on following her gut and the fact they had the best time at Molly Malones Irish Bar where they met. It truly felt like they became best of friends by the end of the night and clicked in an indescribable way.
Alex and Reyna are magical. Their love story is not easy: it’s messy, emotional, healing, insanely romantic with ups and downs and obstacles. Alex and Reyna's story is one emotional rollercoaster ride with such great build-up and crafted beautifully. They were everything I could ever imagine and more. There is something about their connection that feels real, touching and honest. They are a bit opposite yet challenge each other. These two needed to learn how to open up and communicate better. I loved how they blossomed and thrived, got their chance at love and a new beginning. The ending was so them and perfect.

An absolutely amazing start to a new series that made me laugh, swoon and feel all kinds of feels with everything you could possibly want if you love contemporary romance, billionaire, fake relationship, marriage of convenience, forced proximity, characters driven storyline and strong characters. Don't miss out on this book and series.

If you have read Pamela's Brotherhood Series then you have already met Alex DeMarco, Henry's little brother and Olivia's best friend. If you haven’t read it I highly recommend it. Though we have a glimpse of some of the characters reading that series first is not a must for this book. This is the first in the Rouge of Manhattan Series and what a first book. Best advice carve out some time because you are going to fall in love with Alex and he is absolutely going to be your next book boyfriend. He maybe sceen as a playboy but that is the past, until he meets his person.

It is love at first sight for Alex when he walks into a bar near his company Molly Malone’s, after a pretty awful day. He sets eyes on Reyna and there is an instant connection between the two. So lost in conversation time fly’s and they both feel that they will be in each others lives one way or another.

The next day when Henry tells Alex for the face of the company, he must stop his playboy ways and settle down as quickly as possible. To rouse the board he wants to hire an Actress to pretend to be Alex's serious girlfriend and take him off the market and clean up his image. If he doesn’t then he is out of the company. That gives Alex a crazy idea and he tells Henry he is already dating “the one” and plans on marring her. He even tells Henry her name is Reyna. Then shortly after he realizes he is screwed, no one is going to go along with all of this especially a woman he just met. He then comes up with a revolution, with his best friends help, maybe the chance meeting is meant to be. Reyna who lost her job, just evicted from her apartment and has a sick grandmother in a home with large medical bills may need him just as much as he needs her.
Alex then goes back to Molly Malone’s and tells Reyna about the sex tape and why he needs her to pretend she is his serious girlfriend. Not only does Reyna want to do anything to take care of her grandmother she has an intuition to do this. So she says yes. But they both make rules to this fake relationship. As time goes on and unknown to one another they both want to break these rules. They are both very attractive people who are very attracted to one another so what could go wrong?

Alex is extremely guarded because of his past and the only thing holding him back from making this a real thing is his past. When your own mother convinces you are unlovable that does some major damage. Alex is convinced he is impossible to love and for that reason he doesn't want a wife or family. He cares so much about Reyna and has such a connection he wants to make sure she has all her wants out of life. So far she has been given a pretty bad hand. He wants to change all that and he pretty much does. But he knows he can't tie her down and not give her the family she wants. Reyna is falling every day and how can she not with the pedastole Alex has put her on, cared for her, and helped he in any and all ways. Can these two make this fake relationship into a real one..... you are just going to have to read to find out more, but what I will say is when these two give into the physical part well it is an explosion you are going to just love.

Rogue Romeo is the first book in a new series, Rogues of Manhatan, from Pamela O’Rourke. It is a standalone, but these characters have been mentioned in the previous series, The Brotherhood series.

Alex DeMarco has a reputation. He’s a billionaire playboy who doesn’t want a relationship. Reyna Marquez is a young woman who is just working hard to help pay for her grandmother’s medical bills. Unfortunately, she has to deal with a sh*tty boss and ends up getting fired and evicted from her home. So, she’s definitely struggling.

She ends up going to a bar as her friend’s sister offers to help her out while she’s trying to get back on her feet. And who walks in? None other than the infamous Alex DeMarco. There was definitely an instant attraction between them, though neither acted on it.

When Alex’s reputation threatens to destroy his career, he’s told that he needs to fix his image by having a girlfriend. He realizes he can help Reyna out by offering her a place to stay if she pretends to be his girlfriend.

Though they set rules that it would be fake, we all know that never lasts long. Reyna and Alex were perfect together. With them spending so much time together, there was no way they could keep denying their attraction or their feelings.

Alex, while being a playboy, he wasn’t an a**hole. He is definitely a golden retriever boyfriend/husband. He was so kind and caring toward Reyna. He truly just wanted to make her happy and keep her happy. But it wasn’t only Reyna he cared for; no, he was also very kind toward Reyna’s grandmother and just wanted to make her wishes for Reyna come true. He was aggravating at first, when he continuously tried to deny his feelings for Reyna despite knowing how she felt. But he definitely had some growth and was able to open up to her.

This was a bit different from the Brotherhood series in that it was more of a “feel-good” romance with some heartbreaking moments. But there was still a suspenseful moment and a twist toward the end that I did not see coming.

I thought this was a great book to start off the new series, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

“I will always be here to weather your storms. To dance in the rain and to celebrate your rainbows, Sunshine.”

This is the first book in the Rogues of Manhattan series and I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished Broken Strings and I couldn’t put this book down.

Ever wondered what happened when a guy walks into a bar, well you’re about to?

Reyna hasn’t been having the best couple day and on the worst day, she ends up at an Irish bar where she meet a stranger also having a bad week. Reynas was alway told to follow her gut and that exactly what she does with meets Alex. Alex is also having a bad week when he finds out someone made a sex tape of him, and now his position at Demarco Enterprise is in danger. His brother told him to clean up his act with a fake girlfriend, but Alex has a better idea and who better to help him than the girl he meet at the bar. Reynas follows her gut and agrees to help Alex but they need ground rules in order for their fake relationship to work. The longer they’re together the more the attraction between them grow but neither want to risk crossing the line. But can they make it through the storm to find their rainbow?
Their chemistry and banter was amazing from the first moment they met. Their meeting at the bar was the best thing that happened to both of them in long time.
I really enjoyed how their friendship develops first and how their relationship develops because of it. These two definitely didn’t disappoint in the spice department, the slow burn only enhance their passion when they finally gave in. I loved all their moments together from them watching Grey’s Anatomy to them cooking to them dancing. I also love all the interactions with all the side characters. Overall, this book was great and the characters were amazing, and I really enjoyed the ending.

I guess we now know what happens when a guy walked into a bar, he meet his Rey of Sunshine.

I would recommend if you like:

Having read Ms.O'Rourke's work many times before I've been looking so forward to more from her! As soon as this one was announced on social media I wanted to read it. I picked it up and got right into the Rogues of Manhattan world! I enjoyed this so very much story!

Reyna and Alex's journey pulled me in quickly! Reyna and Alex are both dealing with things in their lives. As these two collide and need to fake it all, what happens when the real comes into the picture? and what if they are exactly what each other needs in their lives?

I really liked how i got right into Reyna and Alex's story so quickly, how both of them were dealing with stuff, and how they were brought into each other's lives. I didn't know how they'd handle everything when it came to their arrangement, especially with things thrown their way and when it came to their true feelings. I really admired Reyna's strength and how caring she was. There was more to Alex than meets the eye. My heart felt for both Reyna and Alex many times throughout.

The chemistry Alex and Reyna shared was undeniable and so was how they connected with one another. I loved that their was realness to not only their story, but to both of these characters as well and what that brought to the story.

Sometime a person can walk into your life and when you realize it was for a reason it can be everything for your heart and world which Alex and Reyna's journey sure showed! Also, I so enjoyed the whole fake relationship/marriage of convenience aspect of it all as well!

I was glad to jump into the Rogues of Manhattan world! I enjoyed what the cast of characters brought to this story!

With Rogue Romeo, Ms.O'Rourke has created a great read that i got right into and that brought so many feels! I know i can always count on this author's writing to have me going through all kinds of emotions and did i ever with this story! I am so looking forward to diving back into this world with book two, Rogue Villain!

Be sure to read the author's content warning.

I went into this blind and while the cover drew me cause let's face it, he's pretty to look at lol. This book has so much heart and heat in it. I love it when the supporting characters are just as good as the main ones. This book has an incredible support cast that add so much to the book. Alex and Reyna have a fantastic group that care about them.
Now to the story, I loved how trying to change his lifestyle, Alex learns to know what love is and how to show. He has a reputation and pictures to prove. When it comes to proving the board, he can be trusted, he has a plan or rather his brother does. Fake girlfriend..
Enter Reyna.. She is a girl who hasn't been given the best life. She was left as a baby and raised by amazing grandparents, who loved her fiercely. She is an ex dancer and has so much compassion for others. She knows how to protect herself and is loyal to those she loves. On probably the worse day for her, a guy walks into a bar and they hit it off. He says the crazies thing and she agrees to it with no hesitation. The journey these two take is incredible. From not believing in love to suddenly they can't get enough of each other. The hidden glances, the small touches and the words they speak all add up to one amazing love story for them. I love how he loves her curves and wants to do everything he can to make sure she keeps them. She is a proud Latino woman who wants to make her grandma so proud of her. I really love a good fake dating romance especially when the guy says"It was never fake for me and she replies the same way. The chemistry between them was fire!! So many steamy scenes that I was not prepared for but loved so much !! They made it look so easy! Watching both of them grow and heal from the past was amazing! I seriously loved everything about this book! The care that Alex showed Reyna was sweet and caring. He may look amazingly hot but has a heart of gold. The Italian words he spoke to her made it that much sweeter! I swear he got like 10 times hotter when he spoke it lol. I would highly encourage you to read this book and experience the wonders of it!!

Rating: 💗💗💗💗💗
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶
Tropes: billionaire romance / marriage of convenience / strangers to friends to lovers / broken hero / sassy and strong heroine / slowburn / forced proximity

To the surprise of no one, this is another Pamela O'Rourke novel that I absolutely LOVED and devoured! Pam is a unicorn author for me and I truly love everything she writes! Her writing speaks to my soul.

For those who have read Pam's previous series - The Brotherhood - you'd have met Alex DeMarco (the younger brother of the hero from Painted Truths). And if you haven't, that's okay too, because this is a brand new series for you to find out everything there is to know about him!

Alex, the face of DeMarco Holdings, is a young and sexy billionaire, who finds himself in dire need of a fake girlfriend, and a mutual opportunity presents itself in the form of the sassy Reyna, a beautiful stranger he meets at a bar. And suddenly what starts as a mutual arrangement turns into much more than they both bargained for.

Every time Pam publishes a book, I meet a new favorite hero. She just creates men who are tailor-made for me, and this was no exception. Alex is such a special broken man! He's playful and charismatic. He's likeable and funny. He's swoony af and alpha. He's the whole package! And Rey was his perfect counter. A gorgeous latina, sassy and strong and a true friend! I loved her outlook on life. Together they were magic. Their communication. Their chemistry. Their growing love! I truly fell in love with their love.

I do note though that for those who have read Pam's prior series - this book is different! It's not as twisty or as dark in themes, nor is it as fast paced. But it's equally special! It's a completely different take on the fake marriage trope and it's fantastic! It's fresh and original. Their connection was genuine and so special to read about!

It's lighter and truly contemporary, but I loved every minute and I guarantee that if you enjoy any of the tropes listed - you'll love it too!!!

"I want to be the shelter in the raging storm for this tiny girl with the big chocolaty brown eyes that see me--the real me--and I know I'll never allow anyone to disrespect her. Ever."

So many highlights in this book for me but I think this is probably my favorite Alex moment. It shows his protectiveness and dedication to those he cares for. This is the first book in Pamela's Rogues of Manhattan series and if you read her Brotherhood series then you have met Alexander DeMarco and this gives us an up close and personal glimpse into him.

Alex and Reyna, oh where to begin with these two. Their chance meeting that had to have been written in the stars in my opinion. That instant connection they feel for each other, it is electrifying from the very beginning. With Alex facing a scandal and Henry laying into him about how they are going to handle the situation it is such perfect timing for Reyna coming into his life. We soon see the many layers to Alex that had me wanting to hug him. He got the short end of the stick on so many aspects of life. I have to give credit to Liv for teaching him how to feel again. Then Reyna comes along and awakens something inside of him. When that man loves someone either romantically or platonically he is ALL IN and lives for THEM. He is better with actions than he is with words and his actions when it comes to making Rey happy....he is so selfless. He is so deserving of Rey's love.

Rey herself has so much love to give. I absolutely adored everything about this woman who knocks Alex's world sideways when she doesn't even realize she did. The relationship with her grandmother is so heartwarming. She honestly doesn't let anything get her down and if she does it isn't long before she is standing tall again figuring out how to fix what is wrong. Rey takes care of Rey last and everyone else first. It was definitely time for Alex to show up and put her first. They balance each other out so well.

Once again Ms. O'Rourke has blown me away with such a beautiful love story. I know I say it repeatedly but her writing style is unique to just her. There is just something about the way she forms her words that turn into these stories that have me addicted with the first sentence of the book. I always know when I go into something she has written I will have hours of the best kind of escape from reality. I cannot wait for the rest of this series because Alex and Rey gave it one heck of a start!

A cute story

This is the first book I have read from this author and I enjoyed it.
The FMC Rayna is being kicked by life at every turn, if it’s not her grandmothers health, it’s her job or her home. She cannot catch a break no matter how much she does the ‘right’ thing.
The MMC Alex seems to have everything anyone could ever want, family, money, a company, except the fact it’s all a lie, he’s being blackmailed, no one can know who he really is and his brother is threatening to kick him out of the company if he can’t get his act together.
A guy and a girl walk into a bar…. The rest is history.
This was a sweet story, a story of friendship and being able to help others in ways you can when someone just needs a hand to hold them up. It was an instant pull towards each other but on a friendship/connection level first. Alex wants to be Rayna’s support and Rayna sees all the sides of Alex he thinks he hides from everyone and no one really wants.
I enjoyed that there was no third act breakup, the banter between the characters was funny and charming. They were both sweet and loving.
I feel like this book had a couple extra chapters that weren’t needed and kind of made me loose some of my interest.
Don’t want to mention spoilers so I’ll just say towards the end of the book everything got too ‘fairytale’, too unrealistic, too perfect, I felt like the relationship had been built so well and naturally it wasn’t needed, I think the last few chapters of the book were trying to gear up for more in the series which felt a little confusing where these other characters suddenly came in with storylines that didn’t really fit. I did enjoy the book overall, I don’t think I’ll read anymore of this series right now but doesn’t mean I won’t pick it up later on.
