It finishes with the 7 AHA!s, the 'eureka moments,' the practice of any one of which will profoundly change your life in the most positive way.
I think I fell in love with this writer and speaker....
his book is so brief, so precise... cant be more precise than that...
its a book of a meditative state.. it makes us look within and observe self..
observse self, but with respect.
I am certainly not the usual reader of self-help books. I just don't see the appeal in the usual commonplace sentences disguised as wisdom.
With that said, I believe this book can help people who are struggling with stress and have no idea how to go about changing their behaviors. It certainly gave me some insights, despite my skepticism.
Short book containing lots of wisdom but also lots of common sense advice. It is a good starter for people starting their journey for a more examined and mindful life.
One of my favorites books. It is small in size and I always take it with on plane to re-read again and again. It definitely has helped me reduce stress or least how I see things in life and how I should react to unexpected things happening around.
This book has only 110 pages, with each one packed with wisdom. Mike has a beautiful template style for each new paragraph that looks a bit like this :-
Section 1. Illusion and myth. Myth 1 - "Stress has a natural, positive part to play in modern life" Conclusion - " not so " Myths 2-7 other myths are be-bunked - we do not need to be stressed at any time
Section 2 "Wisdom and truth" - your identity Insight 1 - "You are not what you have been taught to think you are" Insights 2 to 7 - includes your nature, responsibility, beliefs, self- control, life's purpose, relationships
Section 3 "Action and transformation" The 7 AHAs of highly enlightened Souls The first AHA - Be quite " the greatest power is the power of silence, and the essential self is silent" AHAs 2-7 include :- let go, let be, listen in, accept everything, know self, pass on
So there you have it. 21 chapters contained in 3 section. Text is kept nice and ordered with between 4-5 pages for each of the 21 chapters.
I really enjoyed the wisdom, for as usual, the insights were just below the surface of my consciousness.
Thank you Mike, for a superb document. I give you 6 stars out of a possible 5. Namaste, Greg Day
Self help books are great. They are inspirational and sometimes motivate you to make life changes. Making the changes stick though is often the most difficult part.
The 7 Aha's of Highly Enlightened Souls looks at change in an entirely new way. Normally, we look at change from an active perspective. What can I do to change my life? What steps do I have to take to achieve X? How do I go about getting Y? Essentially, we are looking outside our selves. We are trying to change our environment or another person so that our lives become better.
The 7 Aha's of Highly Enlightened Souls tells us that change isn't about doing it's about being. It states that the only real way to change is to look within and make efforts in self-knowledge and self-understanding. These explorations will lead to true growth and happiness. Most importantly though, this book reminds us that when we fixate and try to push something away, we are giving that situation more power which does the opposite of what we actually intend.
While I think there is a lot of energy being spent on somewhat sneakily trying to convince the reader that he/she is living in illusion, I think there is a lot to be gained from reading this book and making the content yours.
When picked up, read, absorbed and reflected on properly, to establish how YOU relate to these ideas and why, I think this book can be fruitful for anyone. There is no point in reading it in order to better your life, however, as that will depend solely on your subsequent reflection on your life.
This book is a great digestible read. It has many brief chapters but they are profound in each one. There are points I found as a practicioner of well being and NLP that we top reminders or just reframing an understanding that increased clarity. Would highly recommend this book, particularly as a coffee break and all-round reflective read.
After reading other's book about the same topic, this book doesn't made me ecstatic, but it's still interesting and quite helpfull since the pages only 110 and the size is small. it's like a summary of all others book with similar topic.
Absolutely fantastic life lesson book towards greater consciousness. I recommend it to all my friends and family who are busy with life and sometimes feel like life has taken over.
This book is very precise, short but loaded with great content. We could define as a road map to enlightenment. It describes 7 myths and 7 AHA's with great placement which provokes our reasoning mind. Highly recommended.
In the life, there are a lot of things come in and come out. But it is very hard to find the good way to balance all of this in order to have a wonderful life. However, this book is the good key to have this balance, and how to escape our stress and have a great time. Thanks a lot
One of the most impressive book which enlighten my soul. I've inspired by the exploration of "AHA! Moments " (the spritual intellegence) in this book . www.iralennon.blogspot.com
A bit preachy and long-winded, but some of it did make sense and was somewhat useable. Although I don't believe that life is quite as black and white as he makes it out to be.
