In-between was the third novel I wrote and went through many drafts over many years - and was even converted into a film - before the novel was finished. It was inspired by the film "The Crying Game" and also numerous so-called "fin de siecle" poets from nineteenth century France. I wanted to start from the premise of a terrorist who was really good inside and misguided and portray his struggle to escape his past, but I also wanted a novel that was rich and stylish, written in deliberately obscu ...more

Slow burning psychological thriller about a disillusioned terrorist trying to extricate himself from his commitment to the "organisation". Rich prose with a surplus of similes.
