Nice quick refresher on feng shui. A bit repetitive if you read straight through like I did. Probably not ideal for beginners. Some of the cures are not easy to implement. I think the best book I've read on feng shui so far has been "Feng Shui Simply."
Probably closer to 2.5 stars. An easy read but I found several of the tips a bit impractical. Think I would have preferred a bit more explanation rather for the tips listed rather than the quick bullet list style. Definitely, not the best book on the topic I've read.
An easy and quick read with some helpful tips. I found the section on feng shui for the entrance of a home a little confounding. How is keeping the entrance clutter free, which is the first recommendation, possible while placing all of the suggested objects there, including a mirror, plants, a turtle, a fountain, an evergreen, red flowers, a lion, a wreath, a circular bowl, a wind chime, a plant in a ceramic container, a ceiling fan, nine pictures, a large stone or sculpture, a laughing Buddha, a piece of jade, and six objects placed on a hall table?
It was really neat to a learn a little more about feng shui, even though I'm not sure how to implement some of the suggestions. It's hard to know where the gua starts and stops, and from which direction..ugh. I wish there were some more diagrams with examples and such.
However, I didn't realize I do a lot of the things in feng shui naturally. Pretty neat!
This was a great book to understand the generic basics of the elements, colors, numerology, and placement. I recommend it for beginners of understanding how your environment shapes your life and influence. I found it more helpful for balance.
Nothing truly stuck out about this book--probably because it's the 4th book on feng shui I've read this year. That said, if you're looking for a quick guide with interesting tips, this is the book for you. I think I may have picked out about 10 new things--and now I need to actually implement them!
