This volume collects West Coast Avengers #10-16, West Coast Avengers Annual #1, and Avengers Annual #15.
I always liked the West Coast Avengers. Steve Englehart injected fun and levity into the stories to balance with the romantic tensions, angst, and thoughts of homicide/suicide.
This set of issues, however, are not my favorites. The return of Graviton and Master Pandemonium are ok, and villains like Freedom Force, Tiger Shark, and Whirlwind make for interesting plots. Unfortunately, things jumpe ...more

The Thing’s sudden disappearance from Los Angeles stymied the team’s desire to add a sixth member and Firebird also departed. The team contended with a wide variety of new and familiar villains: Headlok, The Griffin, Razorfist, Zaran, Shockwave, Quantum, Halflife and Zzzax. This collection of West Coast Avengers comics (the second volume of the ongoing series) actually works pretty well. While the Thing's disappearance from LA ast the start of the book is a bit abrupt, the story moves along with a lot of decent villain battles including Master Pandemonium and the return of Graviton. We also get a goofy West-East Avengers baseball game that's interruppted by the entire team being arrested for treason based on information provided by a traitor. In this case, it's not
