But when Ava's beloved grandmother lands in the hospital, love and duty call her back to her childhood home. To help her Gran and save the family's strawberry farm, Ava will have to face the man who broke her heart when they were just two kids in love. Fine. There's nothing she wouldn't do for her grandmother. She'll stay long enough to get her back on her feet and stabilize the business, and then she'll return to her life in sunny San Diego....
But when the rolling coastal hills and redwood forests start to feel like home again, and Nolan's soulful eyes and strong hands invade her dreams, Ava has to wonder if she's made a terrible mistake. Can she save the farm and nurse her Gran back to health without getting her heart broken all over again, or is she in for a world of hurt?

I really liked the different storylines in this book. I specially loved Toni’s storyline with her niece and how it all came down to their love of nature and helping. Bottom line this book made me smile a lot and it made me think of my grandparents and how sometimes we get busy in life and forget to keep in touch. It made me remember what really matters in life, which is the people in it.

A quick, short, and sweet read. Love a good story based in a small town. Really enjoyed getting to know the characters and their backgrounds. Looking forward to finishing this series at some point ❤️
Grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and snuggle up! This book is like going home, that is if your home is on a wonderful farm with fresh vegetables and loving people. This is definitely a feel good book that you’ll want to savor. Several points of view and diverging storylines will bring you comfort, laughs, and possibly a few tears. I highly recommend this. Great beach read or snuggling in the winter by a fire. Either way, you won’t want to miss this one.
I laughed, I cried, I felt what the characters felt, but mostly Ava. Ava is a great leading lady. The other characters are great, too. The charchters bloom just like this small town. It is full of bloom and life. There are many charachters from a couple of different books and some new to start fresh. I can't wait to keep reading to see how they all mush together. Im sure it will be terrific. I can't wait for Toni's story. I recommend.
In small towns when someone you know is having trouble we try to help them. Unfortunately we know a lot about other people because in a small town whatever you do is told or questioned. A middle age woman returns home from another state to help her grandmother after she is I’ll.
Very slow at the beginning but I finally got into it and really enjoyed it at the end. I’m going to read the second book in the series now and see where that takes me!
I love some of the stories by Christine, it's a nice break from the cozies that I normally read. Great book about a small town in California and how lives intermingle. I like that a person from some of the other books is part of this series. On to the next one.
I really enjoyed this book. It was good having some new characters but the authors manage to bring in characters from other books. I love happy endings so I was relieved to read the end of this story. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
5 stars foe Redwood Cafe (Redwood Grove Book 1). I had to read this thru to the end in one sitting. Loved the small town, interesting characters and warm feelings!
What a charming, lovely read. Kudos to Ms. Gael for an excellent storyline, characters and their development, and such an easy, compelling way to spend my time. At my age, I very much value my time, and found it well-spent on this journey.
Redwood Cafe is a feel good read. A wonderful cast of souls that dance to a song of overcoming, support, and joy. Definitely looking forward to Redwood Meadows.
