This book pulls back the Leather curtain and reveals the Naked Truth about BDSM; not from the perspective of "how to" play with all the fabulous toys or the myths of it being only about "Whips and chains", but from the connections men and women make in this uniquely erotic lifestyle. It shares with you “why” a submissive craves to surrender and “why” a Dominant thrives and feels complete sharing their dominance with them. BDSM THE NAKED TRUTH is a fabulous book for those curious about BDSM, from beginners to experienced players as alike. Anyone in the helping professions such as doctors, counselors and police would do well to learn what it’s really all about to really be understand those who participate in it.

I think BDSM THE NAKED TRUTH is an amazing book--but then I'm bias since I'm the author!

I purchased 'BDSM for Writers' from the same author, and this is a wonderful book to complete an understanding of the Dominant/Submissive life-style. If you are thinking of exploring the trust and erotic adventure of BDSM or are curious what is involved, this book is a wonderful introduction... and much, much more.

Very ... Enriching !
Ok , in a nutshell, it is a great book ! Academic essentially _ away of those erotic fantasies _ mainly dedicated for those who want to learn about BDSM and S/M world objectively , either from the inside or from the outside.

As the Author said in the preface :

I found this book rather repetitive and highly slanted toward a female Top's perspective. There is a lot of explanation of the problems of female Dominate including a Latino one and then skims over the other roles. It does contain alot of basic BDSM definitions and examples of different types of play. I would say it would be a good book for beginners and those who are curious learn more about different forms of play but I find the section on how to do fire play rather disturbing for a beginners book.

While there are some good points made by the author, I feel like there are too many bad points made by the author. Not only that, but her ego shows throughout the book and she is very much in the school of one twue way and I have a low tolerance of people who preach that. If you're looking for a book that'll introduce you to the basics of BDSM, this is not it. I mean, she considers works of fiction as resources. I found that to be quite a joke as Story of O and the movie Secretary aren't exactly educational resources.

Excellent book, lots of definitions, wonderful explanations...the only detraction is the typos and misspellings of words. Otherwise, I'd recommend this to anyone interested!
