Different and I really liked it

I haven't read a book like this one in a while and it was refreshing. The characters were well built and the storyline was definitely strong and well paced. I look forward to reading the rest of this series

Blurb from Goodreads:

First I’d like to address the cover of this book. I have to say that it does not draw me in. I feel like it’s missing a bit of something. And seeing as I really liked the storyline, I really think that a better cover would draw more readers to pick this book up and read it.

I really loved the main character, Jaden Beckett, in this book, at least for the fi

I received this book as a free gift from the author for an honest review.

I just finished the book last night and couldn't sleep because I kept thinking about it! This is a hidden gem of a novel and I absolutely loved it.

What I loved: I really liked the protagonist Jade, who was strong and knew what she wanted. I loved the Skorplings, I could totally picture them in my head and wish I had one as a pet/friend! I was mesmerized by the worlds that Ms. Savage created- the domes and the politics betwe

Wow, this was truly an amazing story. At first when Christina recommended to me, I thought, "not my cup of tea!" The more and more I read, I started to feel how Jaden felt. The aww of a new realm, being able to see a loved one after losing them in another time, and getting to finally experience true love. I fell in love with Ryder and how he was so dedicated to his people, and fought for what needed to be done to save them. I would recommend this book to anyone, it was a great read, and now I ca ...more

Jaden the heroine transports you to a parallel world that is clever and well-crafted. Part love story, part adventure-ALL fun. My world stopped for the two days it took me to read this story.

Words cannot describe how much I love this book! The characters are well developed and the plot was thoroughly thought out. I devoured this book and I can't wait for the squeal!

Something about Vicky Savage's writing is so engrossing and wonderfully detailed. Once I read the first chapter, I was already super intrigued and dying to know more. Jaden is such a strong, kick ass character with a wonderful habit of trying to find out the truth on her own, regardless of what the people around her are saying. I loved seeing Domerica through her eyes, especially with the touching element of her mother added in, and the world building is just phenomenal. Her love int
Fabulous Book!
I simply can't believe I got this one while it was available for free on my kindle. Currently it is only $2.99. Which is totally a bargain when you can be guaranteed a terrific story.

The author,Vicky Savage, wields some serious story-telling power. I love the universe she created. I love the adventure and contrasting lands of Domerica and her post-comet-annihilated Earth.

I finished the book, 'turned' the next page and with the next swipe purchased book two, Streaming Stars (Transce

This book was truly a dream. I thought that it was just going to be a nice YA book that I could talk about with my children but WOW did it capture me. The plot was was predictable except for a few unexpected twists. The characters are wonderfully personable. I was sucked in and couldn't stop reading. A little disappointed that the next book is still in production and I can't read it right away!

Although dystopian is not my favorite genre, this book was AWESOME! It was nonstop action and a new world so intricately created and detailed, I could see it in my mind. This was such an original concept; I couldn’t put it down, keeping me from my own writing. I highly recommend this to EVERYONE!
I received this book for free from the author in the holiday giveaway. Can't wait to read it. Seems really interesting.

This author is so great. I was totally engrossed and am so in love with her characters. I can't wait for the next book and to see what happens or if she ends up with Ryder. Wow. Love this author.
This is a really interesting mix of romance, sci-fi and fantasy with a touch of dystopia blended in. Jaden is a teen who wakes up after a lighning storm in a situation and a place that she does not recognize. She comes to find out that she has somehow jumped to an alternate, post-apocalyptic version of our earth. There were a lot of flaws in this book for me. Despite that, I enjoyed the storyline enough to want to continue reading to see where the story would lead.

The biggest flaw in this book,

Review posted here.

I've been very cautious about what I'm reading this summer because 1. I've been burned by some books, even those that have been recommended by friends, and 2. with my limited reading time, I want to be reading books I love, not books I feel obligated to read. I am so glad Christina approached me to be part of the Transcender: First Timer tour because this book was a lot of fun! Transcender is a really unique read. Jumping genres is certainly an increasing trend, and I really

Because this review is going up so late, I'm going to just leave my thoughts as bullet points. I do have to warn you that a lot of it, particularly when I talk about what I liked about the book, are vague because I can't put into words exactly how I feel and/or why I feel the way I do.

--There was a lot of great world building throughout the book, with lush descriptions and great insight into the government and societal structure

While I usually don't read let alone review books like Transcender by Vicky Savage, this one was a bit of a special case. Originally I somehow discovered and read Transcender two years ago and liked it enough to continue onto its sequel, at the time the third book in the trilogy was unreleased so thinking nothing more of it, I set the books aside. Fast forward to this summer and I rediscovered the trilogy and reread the books in hopes of enjoying them again. While Transcender was an OK read, eve ...more

Transcender: First-timer is about 17-year old Jaden Beckett, who lives with her brother and her father ever since her mother died. On a stormy night, she is accidentally transported to Domerica - a country under a dome in a parallel universe. Jaden finds herself trust into the life of Princess Jaden and into the unfamiliar world politics on a dying planet.

Transcender was a surprising read for me. I applied to read it as a R&R and imm

What an amazing story, captivating your mind as you learn about Jaden and her travels to a alternate world. Thrilling adventure filled with mystery and danger as she tag along and discover who she really is. A strong willed, determined young woman that is not afraid to face the problems head on as they unfolds in her life.

This one is a tough one for me to review. It took a long time for me to read it. I'm not sure it was the books fault or that I was reading other books at the same time which I don't usually do. Anyway, I did enjoy the story. The world building was done exceptionally well and I could visualize it in my mind. Everything was in place. The story idea itself was excellent and at first I couldn't put the book down. Then somewhere in the middle I got a little bored and would only read a short snippet a ...more

This is one of those books I wanted to love more than I actually did.

On the one hand, as far as indies go, this is pretty well done. It could use a little more polish (especially with the names - oy, those are almost cringe worthy - even the title could use some tweaking) but it's certainly nothing book breaking like can occur in indie books.

On the other hand, the author takes a fantastic idea - one person jumping universes and taking over the life of the your self in that universe - and then d

This is an amazingly well done book. It is probably one of the only books I've read that fluidly mixes several genre's together and still delivers one heck of a story. This review is more of a 4.5 star, but I couldn't give it a 4, so it gets a 5.

I cannot wait to pick up the next book and see where it goes. I adored all the characters in this book and the hero (Ryder) was unbelievably fascinating. The world building was fantastic and I loved the explanations for the power sources and the domes bu

Is amazing.

I'm not sure where it came from, I saw it on a suggestion page, took a chance, and WHAM! Addicted.

So it's a mixture of all the best parts of different genres. It's YA, it's sci-fi, it's romance(young adult, but still definitely there), and paranormal. It's got aliens, alternate universes, royal families and plenty of drama.

The story begins as Jade's begins her new 'normal' life after her mom dies in Connecticut. There's a massive storm that causes her to jump into an alter

I was given this book as a free read by the author, I was a little confused by the title and the cover picture thinking it was going to be a bit more of a science fiction read but I was pleasantly surprised. The story line is fresh and not just another supernatural teenager that falls in love. The author really built a whole world around this different dimensions of reality coexisting simultaneously I thought it was a great idea and was really anticipating the main character learning more about ...more

An uneven but ultimately satisfying read. There are a few things that bothered me - instant love between the main characters and some things that were too much to believe. It really bothered me that Jaden kept viewing all of the people in Domerica as the same people from earth. They aren't the same - they don't have the same memories or experiences, and other than physical appearance, are ultimately strangers. The other thing that got to me was that no one realized the Domerica Jaden had changed ...more

I bought this book when I was at a book fair because I was immediately drawn in by the cover: two beautiful green eyes. It was described as fantasy with romance and indeed it was! I love everything about the book. The protagonist Jaden Beckett is living in Connecticut and a lightning storm transports her to a parallel world called Domerica (it is fashioned with Domes). In Domerica her life changes from the life of a normal teenager to a life imposed with responsibility. My favorite characters wo ...more

Good book. Jaden, a seventeen year old in the process of moving to another school and house with her brother and dad shortly after the death of her mom finds herself in another world and another time. A parallel world populated by friends and family who are not who she knows them as. In this world she is not just a regular teen in school she is a princess who will rule a third of the world. She falls in love with her kidnapper, lives with her mother (who is still alive and the reigning queen), ...more

Right from the beginning, I was taken by this story. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical. I'm not a huge fan of the covers, but it's what's inside that counts... and the inside was fantastic. Honestly, this is one of the best indie book trilogies that I have read. Jaden is such a strong character and I loved reading about her. It's crazy that she had to switch from being a normal teenager to being a princess (which, by the way, sounds awesome).

This was one of the best books I've read as far a

I enjoyed this book. I thought it was well-written and it definitely captured my attention throughout. I really liked Jaden although I wish I was more vested in her relationship with Ryder. I think it might have been too "easy" for me. I think that was my biggest complaint - that everything was a bit too "easy" - Jaden pretty easily got herself out of bad situations and I would have liked a bit more conflict, for instance, with Olivia (her best friend from Earth/rival for Ryder's attention in th ...more
