After the world is devastated by a quick killing virus and New York is destroyed by a nuclear bomb, Martin Jacobs sets out to find a new place to live. During a chance encounter, he is saved by a doctor and his wife who are on their way to Texas. Then, later they all save a young woman. They work together to find a new place to start over.

In the finale of the series, we learn a little more about the US and what has become of the country. I really liked the series and, as I have said, enjoy when

In this trilogy, Christopher Hunter has created a living, breathing and vibrant future world. Although the main story arc is a battle for survival so intense it really doesn't permit much in the way of character development, he has forged a detailed and plausible world for future novels to take place in.

I have a feeling this trilogy is simply a preface to novels to come - it sets the scene, it introduces the world in an absolutely believable way, and it hints at more adventures to follow.
