The White Dragon of Sharnu is the ninth book in the Daystar Voyages series by Gilbert Morris.
In this installment the space rangers are sent to the planet of Sharnu to protect the planet's prince until he can be crowned, and if possible, investigate the rumors of a giant white Dragon that is said to dwell on the planet.
This book had good story, the plot was engaging and moved along. (Even if it may have felt a bit recycled.) My only real complaint, was the sappy ending. I won't ruin it for you but when you read it you will understand.
Once again I need to remind myself that these are children's books and can not be expected to contain the same level of character depth as more mature books have, but there is only one more book left in the series, and I'm sad because it won't have the amount of payoff i'm looking for.

The white dragon myth/legend was pretty cool.
The story felt rather shorter than some of the other books in this series.
And there's mysteries unsolved... >_< I don't like that lol...
**SPOILERS**
Heck annoys me so much... He just doesn't listen!
I liked that Ringo's Medallion and family was part of this story. And Meilani's parents as well.

I was glad we finally got a scene with Dai and Mei Lani together! I thought it was weird that Mei Lani said she wouldn't join the Daystar crew without Dai in book one, and then they never speak to each other again.

I find the series slightly repetitive in regards to the conflict between Shiva and Jesus Christ, although Morris and Meeks do make a great point about the dangers of idolatry - even if it is not so clear-cut in other areas, such as obsession over appearance, etc. This book also contains one of my favorite scenes in the book series, right after Ringo Smith gets strangled by the giant snake... The characters make these books so much fun, especially fool Heck Jordan, his laziness, his "charm", his ambitions, and his wild inventions.
