Deadpool never thought it would happen to him. He never thought his new life as a non-killing dad would start out so blissfully and end up like this - with his wife having all the espionage-themed fun and him at home taking care of a screaming baby, wondering when its batteries will run out. Can Deadpool pull his life back together, save his marriage and stop the spread of ...more

David Lapham actually writes a pretty good Deadpool, as in the character. He’s got the voice down cold and doesn’t overdo the wackiness or force the comedy, which is what some writers tend to do with Wade. The story side of things though is unfortunately not as strong.

Hydra Bob is trying to get back into Hydra’s good graces because he’s in love with Taskmaster (this is an alternate reality where Hydra Bob accidentally created Hydra and Taskmaster is a chick) but he’s also trying to stop them an

This was... disappointing. Out of all the things they could have done with a Deadpool MAX comic.... fuck you David Lapham

I was surprised to see I gave the other one three stars. There's something compelling about this reimagining and I can't figure out what. It can't be just that it's so negative and unpleasant. . . . There's a serious coherence about it that I think makes the whole thing work but I cannot explain it.

Fun and ridiculous as the first part with a really solid spy twist going on in the second half. Kyle Baker's art continues to be a highlight, and Cable wears a monocle, which I kind of loved. Ultra-violence and some really uncomfortable sexual feelings come standard.

Whacked out fun!
The SUPERB art, and excellent writing have an almost acidic quality,
humor with just a hint of nausea.

This continues the lunacy that started in Vol. 1.

Silly, over the top, but with a slightly confusing and weird storyline. However the jokes are good and characters well fleshed out. Deadpool and Hydra Bob are brilliant together.
