If you're looking for an accessible guide to demystify the internet for a non-tech-savvy friend or family member, this book is a great choice. The author, Levine, does a fantastic job breaking down the complexities of the internet and explaining it in a way that's easy to understand.
While it may seem like a basic read for more advanced users (like me), it's still a valuable reference to have on hand. And, who knows, you might even learn a thing or two you didn't know before.
Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand the basics of how the internet works. It's a great resource for both novices and experts alike. Not me, as I am a CCNA!
Very user-friendly and easy steps made this computer challenged person very happy. I learned the email app on Android is too small for downloading emails. No idea gmail is bigger, downloads every file from my current email provider and doesn't require creating a gmail account! Highly recommended instead of contacting the phones stores focused on selling new phones instead of resolving issues on existing phones regardless of age. Same goes for desktop, laptops, etc.
The Internet For Dummies by John R. Levine, Carol Baroudi, Margaret Levine Young (John Wiley & Sons 1993)(004.678). This is part of the popular "----- For Dummies" series. When first published in 1993, this was a widely read and hugely popular and influential reference/guide to the unknown and untamed beast all had heard about but few had yet encountered which was called "The Internet" or "The Worldwide Web." With this guide in hand, many of us tiptoed online for the first time. It is now completely dated, but it remains an important artifact of the early interweb. My rating: 7/10, finished 1996.
Wow! I was a librarian feeling totally incompetent in a fast-changing world when I read this. I'm not sure I felt any more competent when I finished. It took the Internet getting more user friendly to win me over.
very useful book for who's don't understand the internet, and who's wanna join to build a website. this book give all what you need. gives you the whole idea about internet.
