After suffering a bitter betrayal by the man she loved, Genieve had no intention of getting emotionally involved with a man for a very |ong time. Unfortunately the arrogant, wickedly attractive Ross Macauley had other ideas, and very soon Genieve found herself swept along by the force of the powerful chemistry between them. But wasn't she heading for more heartache, especially since her glamorous cousin Coralie made no secret of her interest in Ross?
It wasn't bad, but it got annoying the way the H and h were both so quick to think the worst of each other. They should have been less ready to jump to conclusions and start accusing each other of cheating.
And knowing what a conniving bitch her cousin (the OW) was, and how she kept threatening to take the H away from her, the h should have seen through her scheme, no matter how damning it appeared at first. She should have taken a leap of faith and trusted the H.
The H should have done the same thing, when he caught the h and the OM in what looked like a compromising position. It led him to think the worst of her later on, as well.
The OM was also a piece of work, though he tries to redeem himself later. He gave the lamest excuse for why he cheated on the h back when they were engaged and was so conceited he was convinced she still loved him, even after she married the H (which he assumed was on the rebound).
And the OW's estranged husband sure was a simp! Despite how crappy she treats him; he still adores her and wants their marriage to work. (What marriage??? That was one big farce!)
Too many flawed characters can get on your nerves.
