Seventh grade has been surprisingly quiet for Percy Jackson. Not a single monster has set foot on his New York prep-school campus. But when an innocent game of dodgeball among Percy and his classmates turns into a death match against an ugly gang of cannibal giants, things get...well, ugly. And the unexpected arrival of his friend Annabeth brings more bad news: the magical

I already love the Percy Jackson series so much. It's on the young side of Young Adult, to be sure. But it is just so damn fun I can't help but love it.
Sea of Monsters was a more accurate representation of the second book. The first one left out some fairly key scenes and characters. This one was spot on, if my memory serves me correctly... which it probably doesn't but whatever.
I loved it. That's what matters.

Even though I have read this series before, after reading and absolutely loving the first book in graphic novel form, I knew I needed to read them all over again in the same way.
It is amazing how much I had forgotten that the graphic novels helped me to remember. Most of all though, I am so happy that the sarcastic humor of Percy and his friends, still holds strong in these. It is one thing I truly did not forget about loving when it came to this series and it's spin off.

While I liked the first graphic novel, I enjoyed this one more. It did skip over some parts however, the flow of the story was a lot smoother. I loved that there were little details in the illustrations that added more of the story. These have been so fun to read and I can't wait to continue!

The illustrators did such a great job! This graphic novel is my favorite of the series. I had so much fun reading this. I flew through it so quickly. After reading this, I think I'll be picking up graphic novels more often.

this is an okay book but a waste of time if you ask me their was some moments that I did not see when I watched the movie. but their is not the felling of what is this what is that from the first one. it seems like a repeat of the first book but with more things. it not like the harry potter sires were their all was something new and mysterious. that is all I have to say without spoilers because no one spoilers.

I thought this book was good. It was easy to read through, like most graphic novels. It had nice moments of action, where there was fighting, and I like the twists and turns the plots had as I read further in the book. If you like action science fiction type books, this would be a good graphic novel for you.

This was strides better than the first one in my opinion. The art was way more consistent, and they hit every important plot point. Compared to the novel, it definitely lacks that humor that the novels have, but I didn't notice nearly as much as I did in the first one.

Second verse, same as the first. Definitely a fun bit of nostalgia but it rushes through the plot points at breakneck speed so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have read the novel first. Still, it's a nice companion to the series and it's interesting to see the story in a different format [even though I'm still not the biggest fan of the art style]

I started reading this book because I was required to read graphic novels for class. As the book progressed, I started to get bored with it because I missed the details of the original book. There were some parts from the book that I missed that weren't in the graphic novel. I believe that it would be better if I hadn't read the original book first.

I never got the hype about Graphic novels/Manga but I'm really starting to get into these.
Having already read Sea of Monsters, I knew the story of course.
There were artistic highlights (in the updates).
Only complaint is that the characters just don't look their ages. Meh ...more

It's a nice graphic novel, but the characters don't really look like how I imagined it... Oh well, it was still pretty good, but of course the book is better with all the details. This GN is a nice way to freshen up your memory after a long time not reading the actual books ;)
PS: This review counts also for Sea of Monsters & The Titan's Curse. I read them all on the same day and I don't think it gets better or worse with each GN. It just stays on the same lever. Just go ...more

Boy, I hate giving this rating to Rick Riordan. However, it's not his fault that once again someone else butchered this story.
I got to say that this was better than the previous graphic novel, the color palette it's way more colorful, BUT I really (really) hate the drawing style. Now, that's personal but the real problem with the illustrations is that they do not show the characters' emotions: Percy could be feeling upset but his face would look either l ...more

This second volume of the Percy Jackson graphic adaptations is excellent, quite an improvement on the first. The story is more complete, and the artwork (by the same artist) is better. Now, on to Book 3!

the drawing was really good, It's good to read it after the novel since there is no good movies for it, the graphic novel will replace it

Lol, I am so getting this for my birthday, since it is released one day after! :D

I read the first Percy Jackson novel a while back and I had a lackluster experience, especially since the book made me feel old. I thought maybe a different format would help, but alas, The Sea of Monsters presents me with the same things that didn't click the first time around. It's a very Nickelodeon way of treating plots, characters, and the hero. It's nice to include references that will teach kids about Greek mythology, but I feel this is a series that does not age well. Unlike other middle
