The Night She Disappeared, with only 240 pages, is a short but intense mystery. Kayla was only going out to deliver a pizza... but she never came back.

As some of you may know, mysteries, thrillers, horrors of all kinds are my favorite genre. I was enticed by this synopsis as soon as I read it, and I found myself absorbed in the story from the start. Told in multiple perspectives, we get to walk into the lives of the people directly affected by Kayla's disappearance, all the while trying to figu

This story kept you on the edge of your seat. It was a fast paced, page turner, and I have to say, it scared the living daylights out of me! That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gabie's a high school senior working part-time at Pete's Pizza. One night she switches shifts with co-worker and fellow student Kayla. On that night Kayla goes out to deliver pizza and never comes back. Her car is found, keys in the ignition, purse on the seat, and door wide open but no sign of Kayla. This is alarmi

“A genuine thriller.” Those are the words written on the cover of The Night She Disappeared and they’re words with which I wholeheartedly agree. With its 230 pages, April Henry’s YA crime novel is a quick and exciting read. It is clear from every page that Henry is an experienced author with more than ten novels behind her. Her control over the characters, plot and pacing is absolute.

When a pizza delivery girl named Kayla goes missing, her two co-workers know that she wasn’t the intended target

'The Night She Disappeared' was a rousing thriller that I really enjoyed. It had me on the edge of my seat with no idea what the possible outcome might be... the pages were flying. First off a huge thanks to Wendy from Back in the Midnight Garden for letting me read this ARC!

Wow! The Night She Disappeared was both fast and furious. I literally finished this book in less than 24 hours because I was so hooked! I never thought a mystery/crime type YA novel would appeal to me. How wrong was I??? This uniquely narrated story that unfolds through several POVs, 911 dispatch transcripts, newspaper articles, missing person's flyers and even autopsy reports had me at the edge of my

“Everything in the world is designed.”

This book follows the disappearance of Kayla Cutler, a seventeen year old girl who was kidnapped while delivering pizza. The kidnapper placed an order at Pete's Pizza, where Kayla worked. But he asked about the girl in the Mini Copper, Gabie. Gabie and Drew, a coworker, are sure that the man didn't want Kayla, but Gabie.

The story was all over the place. It wasn't as mysterious as the synopsis makes it look like. It was told from several POV, but none of th

So...the rating itself should alert you to the fact that whatever I have to say about this book is good. Moving on from there, let me just say that one of the first things that attracted me about this novel is the scarcity of its genre or rather sub-genre. This is a thriller, a contemporary thriller, and we don't get too many of those in the YA genre. Or at least I haven't read many of them.

Anyway.

The Night She Disappeared is an amazing novel. During many instances in the course of the narrativ

ARC tour--The Midnight Garden Thanks Wendy!!

I still have chills from reading this book! I usually tend to shy away from murder thriller type books but The Night She Disappeared came very highly recommended so I thought I would give it a go and I am so glad that I did!

The story is told from multiple points of view and sometimes that doesn’t work for me, but in this context it was brilliant. You not only get to see what the victim is thinking but you get to experience every side of the story and i

I almost gave up on this book, but yay, I did it!
The Night She Disappeared is a thriller that is made to thrill! This is definitely not a Tina book, but once in awhile I like a good old fashion scare that doesn't involve things that go bump in the night. But dame, did this book ever feel real. All the 911 calls and the missing picture and other illustrations made this ten times more creepy.
This is chill-worthy stuff my friends! Fans who want to be freaked out will love this!

"And I pray that I'll be ready. Ready to kill him."

This was a fast read, but I wouldn't call it a worthwhile read.

Trigger Warning: Suicide

I'm writing this review right away because I'm already starting to forget names - it was that unmemorable to me. The Night She Disappeared features around three teenagers. You have Kayla - who is kidnapped and held hostage, Drew - the love interest and boy from the wrong side of the tracks and our main protaganist Gabbie - it was supposed to be her that w

My original review was going to be a Scooby Doo gif at the moment when the culprit is arrested and attempts to shake his handcuffed fist at the gang while saying, "I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for you meddling kids!" But I couldn't find one. So this will have to do:

But, to include a Scooby Doo gif (and because I am immature), here is what the main characters look like in my mind while they're more concerned with each other rather than the kidnapped victim:

I brought this book home from the library and thought it looked kind of interesting, so I started to read it. It didn't take me very long to finish (it's only 229 pages) but I have to say I didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else. These are just my personal opinions and thoughts, so I'm sorry if you don't agree! It just wasn't one of my favorites.

The Night She Disappeared revolves around a small-town pizza place, and three teens who work there: Gabie, Drew, and Kayla. One night, Kayla goes out

One of my closest friends loves true crime fiction, especially books about serial killers. Over the years she's pressed me to read books about Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy and the nightmare inducing, Jeffrey Dahmer, my response has always been the same, 'hell no!'

I like happy endings, sexy vampires, angsty werewolves, cozy mysteries and the occasional zombie infestation. But stories about something real, monsters who look like people but walk among us, picking out their next feast from among their

There are so many things I didn't like about this book. First of all, this should have been in the middle grade section of the library and not YA.
It was so juvenile and ridiculous. The storyline itself was interesting. Local girl goes missing after going out on a pizza delivery. Pretty attention grabbing. And the story started out really good. But there was no reveal really. There was no "the butler did it." Or someone that you could guess from the story. So to me, that was kind of pointless bec

One night, Kayla, another girl who works with Gabie, uses Gabie's car to make a delivery and never returns. This book is called "The night she disappeared" by April Henry. The book was okay even though though I didn't really like the ending. I didn't really like how one person was talking out of turns and by what I mean by that was the author didn't show a lot of " in the book when someone is talking. So it made me confused when who's talking or not. Back to the book, the book was about a delivery girl who works at a Pizza place. Her name was Kayla. One day a man called the place and he asked Kayla's ...more

My Thoughts: So, I read Henry's other book Girl Stolen a few months back and it was a good book. I don't like calling these books good because even though they are good to read, they are also scary horrible events to read about. I do not want to think about these things happening in real life but they do.
