TJ & Finn #1

Woman With a Dildo

Rate this book
Dear Author,
There is a moment just before it happens when you know your life is about to change. What led them to it and what's going to happen next?

Photo Description: It is the instant before the kiss. A tall, slim young man in business clothes stands chest to chest with a shorter suit-jacketed Asian man. The taller man tilts his head, eyes closed, waiting. The Asian man places a palm on his shoulder and leans in, mouth opening to claim his lips.

This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Hot Summer Days" event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.

Read the story here or find it in Don't Read in the Closet, Volume 1.

Cardeno C. - CC to friends - is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno's stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset.

Heartwarming Stories. Strong Relationships. Forever Love.

First about the title
It piques your interest, doesn’t it? Well, it surely piqued mine, and this story was so worth reading! Sorry, but I can’t say anything more because it would be a major spoiler. So, I guess you have to read it if you want to know what the title is about... You’ll love it!

The Story
Even in a stable, committed relationship, doubts and insecurities can occur. And reassurance can be so sweet…

Plot and characterization
Perfect and enough for a short story.

Overall
I loved it!

Answer: you get Cardeno C to write it! I loved it and its a freebie to boot! Go get it... short, but its lovely.

4 stars!

First of all, I really like Cardeno C.’s work and I was super excited to read this free contribution to the Don’t Read in the Closet event. And I really enjoyed it. Cardeno definitely has a way with words – she was able to create beautifully interesting characters in just a few pages.

This story is about Tj and Finn - long-time friend that turned into long-term lovers and are now in an established relationship since quite a while. Going to a wedding and meeting people from their past sparks sudden insecurities in their relationship, but they way they handled them was truly perfect.

I’m definitely going to read the other free stories about this sweet couple.

My first Cardeno C., and what fun it was!

I'm a sucker for a friends-to-lovers story and a HEA, and this short little freebie offers both.

I now understand why some folks roll their eyes at the sexy scenes Cardeno C. writes; they *are* a skosh squicky. (The word "rosebud" was included here, and there were a couple references to a "tight channel," need I say more?) But in small doses, I could really get used to this kind of writing, especially sandwiched between some of the more intense books/series I'm currently reading.

Great storytelling, too. I'll definitely be back for more!

Okay, so today's story from the Don't read in the Closet anthology is.... ehm, whuuut?

--------------------------------------------------------

** 2,5 stupid dildo stars **

This shortie offered a glimpse into the life and relationship between Tucker "TJ" and Finnegan"Finn". I liked them and how the story told their history from friends to lovers.
The sex scene in the beginning was a bit sudden, though. It was nice, but I would have liked it more if it would have been at the end, when I've gotten to know the characters a bit, you know.
And I couldn't quite get why Finn had insecurities now, two years into their relationship. Doesn't he have faith in Tucker at all?

The story would have gotten a higher rating if it wasn't for the mentioning of that damn dildo.

------------------
"Because a dildo won't grow and fill in my hand when I stroke it. Because a dildo won't taste warm and salty against my tongue when I lick it, or push against my throat with a firm giving pressure. Because a dildo won't ever move inside me and touch just the right spots the way you do."
------------------

Sorry, so not hot ^^.

------------------
"The biggest problem with a woman with a dildo is that she isn't you."
------------------

Don't get me wrong, I like a dildo as much as the next guy/girl (heh), but not like this.

I DID, however burst out laughing when I saw this on Goodreads when I added the book to currently reading.
And (of course) I couldn't help myself and had to add an "update".

ROFL!

I am 100% done, people. And I have 411 "characters" left. Geez! o.O

I didn’t like the first half of this story. It just pretty much started off with a sex while we didn’t even have a chance to know these guys yet. I was a little confused and bored with it.

Then the second have was really good. Much better a little tension and just more of a connection. IMHO this would have worked much better with the sex scene at the end not the beginning. It probably would have gotten five stars that way but the way it is now is only a 3 stars for me. That might just be me though

Ah the insecurities of being with a bisexual... These are familiar to me, having dealt with them from my partner.
I wish more people would understand love is about a person not a gender.

Offered FREE from M/M Romance Group, Hot Summer Days event.

I was hesitant at first about the existing relationship, but they gave a lot of back story and that first sex scene was hot. Then they did a flash-back, although it was just a really quick one I don't feel like it was needed to develop their characters. So I was iffy, but what can I saw, I'm a sucker for romance and that last line was just too effen cute.

Warning: there are no women with dildos in this free download. This is a rather sweet romance with a little insecurity and a lot of love. Not bad for a free, quick read.

Don't Read in the Closet is a collection of short stories published for free for members of the M/M Romance Group. The best part of this series of shorts is that they were based on a photo and a reader request for a story. Here is the photo and reader request that inspired this story (contains tasteful M/M situation):

Like many others commented here I just didn't know what to expect from the title. Who knew?

I loved the flow of this story.. starting in the middle, looking back and moving forward..ALWAYS together.
This one has it all, with LOTS of heart. I started it with a smile and finished it through happy tears.. Very touching ending, loved it.
Another favorite Hot Summer Day for me!
Beautiful.

I love the fact that this one started with an established relationship, but also showed that even the best of relationships requires some care and feeding:)

From the opening scene which was hot and sexy to the closing scene which was romantic and made my heart melt, I loved every bit of it:) A very clever title and story angle - it rocked!!!

The title kind of threw me but it made sense once I got into the story.

This was very good but I would have liked to have seen a little more as far as the main characters are concerned. It's rare for me to read anything where the story starts with the two mains already in a relationship.

Overall, I liked it. A nice, quick read.

This was a cute little read... T.J. and Finn are so cute together, and lets face it... everyone has insecurities in a relationship and same sex relationships are harder and people judge and it's easy to feel insecure....
I'm so glad T.J. gave Finn the reassurance he needed.
And as always, C. Cardeno always makes a hot scene between the two :P

On to the next :)

Sexy and cute.

Tj and Finn are in an established relationship for 2 years and bought a condo together. But Finn is still insecure sometime because TJ is bi so he was jealous of a blond girl who had her hands all over him and he was scared that TJ would get tired or him and ditch him for a girl , because a bastard (who went to law school with turn) told him that TJ is the wife, picket fence, 2.5 kids kinda guy and just because he liked having his ass filled doesn’t mean he’s gay and he could get that from a woman with a dildo.

TJ convincing Fin : “Because a dildo won’t grow and fill in my hand when I stroke it. Because a dildo won’t taste warm and salty against my tongue when I lick it, or push against my throat with a firm but giving pressure. Because a dildo won’t ever move inside me and touch just the right spots the way you do” 😁😁

Friends turned lovers, yet the hidden barriers of doubt about one's sexuality make their perfect intimacy lack something. The true meaning behind love. A talk happened with the third one in a restroom of a woman with a dildo break that barrier and give them the real meaning of their love.

A tale of two friends who turned sole mates finally find their true love, once again. Definitely worth a read. And remember, title might fool you as some of them reviewers said...

3.75 stars. A sweet short M/M romance story.
Finn and Tyler are attending a family wedding and in the process an deep fear is stirred to life. The writing style is good. Despite the shortness of the plot we get the connection, chemistry and a steamy scene between Finn and Tyler. Finn’s fear is understandable and the plot resolution is sweet and gives the story its tongue in cheek title!
