this has officially become my comfort manga series. this volume featured three really entertaining mysteries. in the first volume, a game of hide and seek goes wrong and we join conan and his kid gang as they skate through the streets to save their friend and solve the mystery. the twist at the end was unexpected and wacky so i loved that. the skateboard scene made me want to pick up my skateboard and hit the streets so bad so i will be doing that this weekend.
in the second mystery, we have the perfect cozy mystery with the murder taking place in an inn where there’s a reunion. i liked how conan stealthily guided rachel’s dad to solving the murder himself instead of knocking him out so he could unravel the mystery through him.
in the third mystery, rachel’s dad, the detective, is invited to a rich girl’s party to thank him for finding her dog and someone is murdered in the mansion the party takes place at. there were a few twists that were fun and the cliffhanger at the end pissed me off as usual but it made me start the next volume just to see if i was right about whodunit. i was, so that was extremely satisfying.
i thought by now the mysteries would be repetitive but they are pretty refreshing so far. hopefully it stays that way. it was so fun piecing my theories together while reading this volume i can’t wait to continue with the next volume!

Wieder hat Conan spannende Fälle zu lösen. Einmal ist er mit seinem Detektiv-Club unterwegs und verfolgt ein vermeintliches Gangster-Duo. Im nächsten Fall geschieht ein Mord auf dem Klassentreffen von Kogoro. Und im dritten Fall hat Conan es wieder mit einem mysteriösen Mordfall zu tun.
Ob er ihn aufklären kann, erfährt man in diesem Band noch nicht, denn er endet mit einem Cliffhanger. Es ist also auf jeden Fall von Vorteil, wenn man auch gleich Band 10 zur Hand hat! Ich möchte auf jeden Fall schnell weiterlesen, denn dieser neunte Band der Reihe hat mir wieder viel Spaß und Lesefreude geschenkt.

You gotta hand it to Mr Aoyama for finding ways to twist wholesome settings into straight up murder.
Childhood friends reunite to catch up after so long? Surprise, two of them were stuck in a toxic relationship and wouldn't be happy, so one killed the other.
However, it's nice to see that even the goofier characters have depth to them. Kogoro gets to solve this on how own (Well, with lots of help, but still on his own.) Since it was his group of friends involved, and I think that's Pretty Neat.

It's hard to find a Detective Conan case I don't love, even if it has the corny textbook introductions to the usual suspects and totally unbelievable methods of murder because every story is so GOOD and unique. I love this series so much.

Soy fan del primer caso, que empieza siendo una cosa y termina siendo otra completamente distinta.
El segundo de la reunión de los amigos de Kogoro, es buenísimo y también un poco triste.
Me había olvidado un poco del tercer caso, así que fue todo un descubrimiento para mi averiguar quien era el asesino.

Eh, I found the anime adaption for Richard's Reunion to be a more thorough plot. The Junior Detective League storylines are also my least favorite plot lines in this series (I've always found the trio of kids to be extremely annoying).

The indiscriminate killing arc is the first episode I remember from the anime. I can't remember who did it but I remember Conan explaining the trick in vivid detail.

Can't wait for new solid characters to appear, which they did (since I started volume10)
This volume as always has excited cases, the last one about drowning was some how interesting since I am afraid of drowning and as I was reading the manga I felt this smell of water when it goes up your nose when breathing underwater. Yeah I drowned one time but it wasn't traumatizing lol, but I would love to learn swimming.
Anyway I'm racing through these chapters still no news about guys with black suits.

Wie immer gibt es ordentlich zu tun für Conan. Im ersten Fall geht ein Versteckspiel bei den Detectiv Boys mächtig schief und Ayumi schwebt in großer Gefahr. Danach geht es für Conan, Ran und Kogoro zu einem Ehemaligentreffen, wo sie auf die Judoklasse von Rans Vater treffen. Aber natürlich verläuft sowas wieder nicht ruhig ab und es geschieht ein Mord. Und zuletzt wird im ersten Teil eines Falls eine reiche Erbin ermordet, die ihren 24. Geburtstag feierte.

Das ist der neunte Band der Manga-Reihe "Detektiv Conan" und auch, wenn die Fälle in sich abgeschlossen sind, sollte man der Reihe nach lesen, da die Grundgeschichte immer wieder fortgesetzt wird. Es ist als Taschenbuch, sowie e-book erhältlich. Es kommen zwei abgeschlossene Fälle und der erste Teil eines weiteren vor.
Meine Meinung:
Ich bin ein großer Fan von den Detectiv Boys, warum genau weiß ich selber nicht. Aber irgendwie finde ich die Fälle von ihnen zu albern und sie sprechen mich selten wirklich an. Aber ab und zu gibt es auch einen, den ich echt klasse finde und dazu gehört der erste Fall dieses Mangas. Die Detectiv Boys spielen verstecken und Ayumi wird versehentlich von zwei Verbrechern "entführt" und schwebt in großer Gefahr. Ich fand diesen Fall sehr spannend und interessant und fieberte mit Conan und den anderen Jungs mit. Die Auflösung war echt klasse und auch wenn ich es bereits als Anime kenne, gefiel es mir sehr.
Im zweiten Fall besucht Kogoro mit Ran und Conan ein Ehemaligen-Treffen seiner Judo Klasse und natürlich passiert dort ein Mord an einer Mitschülerin. Diesen Fall fand ich zwar auch ganz gut, aber nachdem ich ihn bereits als Anime kannte, war er irgendwie nicht mehr so spannend. Mir fehlte einfach das gewisse Extra, aber mir gefiel es, dass Kogoro hier zeigte, dass auch in ihm ein guter Detektiv steckte. Vor allem überraschte es mich, wie ernst er wirkte und nicht seine üblichen Mätzchen machte...naja, bis am Schluss natürlich, da war er wieder ganz der Alte.
Und im letzten Fall, der natürlich geteilt wurde, geht es um eine reiche Erbin, die an ihrem 24. Geburtstag ertränkt wird. Ich fand diesen Fall im ersten Teil ganz in Ordnung, auch wenn er nur mäßig interessant war und sich vor allem anfangs sehr zog. Aber dadurch, dass auch Ran in Gefahr geriet, wurde es doch spannend.
Der Zeichenstil gefiel mir wieder sehr und ich hatte keine Probleme, dem Geschehen zu folgen. Toll war es, wie genau die Mimik der Charaktere dargestellt wurde und man immer ein gutes Gefühl für den Fall hatte.
Fazit:
Ein durchwachsener Band, der mir aber insgesamt doch ganz gut gefiel. Zwar fand ich nicht jeden Fall sehr spannend und der Cut nervte etwas, aber ich hatte vor allem mit dem Fall der Detectiv Boys meinen Spaß, was ja auch nicht immer vorkommt. Kogoro lief zu Höchstform auf und blieb doch ganz der Alte, was ich zu herrlich fand. Von mir gibt es:

There was three cases in this book (A dangerous Game of Hide and Seek, An Unexpected Hint, Groom Selection). A dangerous Game of Hide and Seek was when Amy, a little girl that's a friend of little Jimmy (Conan), hides in a trunk. Meanwhile Amy, Conan, George, and Mitch were playing hide and seek, there was a murder of a little girl. When Conan discovered Amy was "kidnapped" by two adults that he thought was the murderes for the little girl crime, Conan and his friends hurried to fetch the car Amy was hiding in. Eventually, Conan and his friends "rescues" Amy, finding out that the "kidnapper" was actually two adults practicing to preform for a festival Conan wanted to go.
An Unexpected Hint was a story of Mr. Moore's, a detective that's taking care of Conan, reunion of his Judo team. Yumi Horikoshi, the one that was the team's beautiful manager, was found murdered. Kazushi Nakamichi, a Chiba police, was found guilty making her exercise before killing her, causing muscles rigor suddenly. The reason was because Yumi didn't approve Kazushi's proposal for eight years, but when he was about the marry, she threatened him and his future wife mentioning that she would never let him be happy.
Groom Selection, unfortunately, didn't tell us who the criminal was. It was Rekia Yootsul's 24th birthday and she invited 4 possibly worthy mens for her future husband. Unfortunately, she dies found in a tub; Yuji Nokaido, one of the 4 mens, was found dead forcefully drowned in a fountain outdoors; Racheal, Detective Moore's daughter, drank a cup of coffee that had sleeping pilled mixed. Racheal didn't die because Conan ran back to saver her. Conan uses his way to propose his final words, which was the last word of the book.

I rounded it down cause I was only here for Kogoro's time to shine and that's all.
I think the kidnapping's plottwist was great and the unfolding of it all, but I'm not super invested in the Detective Boys and Ayumi in particular so *shrugs*. Not even bothering with the casual heteronormativity in honest-to-god kids talking about marriage plans. Why.
Kogoro's reunion is not that complicated of a case but how the Standing Benkei pose is introduced in the plot, Kogoro's frustration and him picking out all the clues and crumbs Conan gave him, out of spite! How he solved the case was super badass, too, quotable stuff. Also, I appreciated the brat not interfering in this one, that was actually sweet of Conan (he looks out not only for Ran but the old man as well).
The last case (which is missing one file in this volume but I re-read it in the next volume) was the complicated one. Really well thought-out, confusing you to the last minute even though I was familiar with it. It was brutal, like they put it. I love how the older chapters in this series, or most of them, leave you with a bittersweet aftertaste. There's always a blunt cutting remark directed to the culprit from the person you'd least expect, in the form of a reflection, memory or plain honest grief. It's a touch of humanity to it that I enjoy and makes me keep coming to murder mysteries/whodunnit stories/crime literature.

Why do you do this to these poor kids?
This volume was made up of two full cases and the start of a third one.
The first case was about the detective boys and I am shook. While I was surprised by the horror and high stakes of these kids’ first cases, this one led it to a whole new level. I needed to stop reading for a while after Ayumi’s discovery. Why do these poor kids still enjoy detective stuff so much? I guess kids have a very vivid imagination and see things with different eyes, but even after the conclusion of this case, I feel like they would be scarred for life.. However, I do think the case was fun. It was unrealistic and over the top, but I enjoyed the ride a lot.
The second case was gem packed and without a doubt my favourite out of this volume. I love that Kogoro got his time to shine and I enjoyed the case’s resolution.
The third case was another good one. I personally didn’t feel as invested in characters, but the case is very interesting and while in the past I was no fan of the split of cases between volumes, I love that this volume ended with all the clues delivered so there is time to piece them together before the big resolution in the next volume.

Este noveno volumen reúne tres casos: los dos primeros, el del secuestro de Ayumi y el del asesinato de la mujer en la reunión de colegas de Kogoro, completos y de tres capítulos cada uno; del tercero, el de un asesino que ahoga a sus víctimas, figuran solo cuatro capítulos y falta el desenlace que aparece iniciando el tomo siguiente. Son casos muy clásicos y conocidos: el de Ayumi mantiene el climax a través de la persecución del auto donde está la secuestrada y se resuelve en un equívoco; el de la reunión de colegas de Kogoro nos revela algunos elementos del pasado del detective y narra una historia de amor trágica que concluye en un crimen premeditado; finalmente, el último de los casos presenta los elementos típicos de una enorme mansión donde todos están encerrados sin posibilidad de irse y se empiezan a producir asesinatos mediante ahogamiento en agua de forma un tanto aleatoria, sin justificación aparente, pero como suele suceder en Conan, los homicidas suelen estar en algún sentido cumpliendo una venganza justificada por algún crimen del pasado que quedó ocultado. Como dato interesante, me sorprendió ver al final del tomo (publicado en 1996) el anuncio por parte de Aoyama de que estaba a punto de salir al aire la adaptación al anime de Detective Conan.

Saat bermain petak umpet di taman kota, Ayumi terbawa mobil orang saat sedang sembunyi. Mobil itu dicurigai Conan sebagai komplotan penculik anak perempuan. Menggunakan skateboard dan alat pelacak dari Profesor, Conan, Mitsuhiko, dan Genta mengejar mobil tersebut.
Kogoro mengadakan reuni klub judo universitas angkatannya. Naas, salah satu sahabatnya dibunuh oleh sahabatnya yang lain. Namun berdasarkan waktu perkiraan kematian, semua orang memiliki alibi karena sedang bermain pingpong bersama. Di kasus ini Conan membiarkan Kogoro menyelesaikan kasus ini sendiri karena kasus ini sangat sentimental.
Kogoro, Conan, dan Ran menghadiri sebuah pesta ulang tahun puteri tunggal grup Yotsui. Sehabis pesta, ternyata beberapa mobil tamu dikempeskan bannya sehingga tidak bisa pulang. Reika Yotsui dan 5 tamu lelaki tersebut terpaksa menginap di villa. Selain itu tim Kogoro pun terpaksa menginap karena Kogoro mabuk.
Saat mencari Reika yang dianggap menghilang, salah satu teman Reika dibunuh di kolam. Lalu Ran juga hampir dibunuh di wastafel. Beberapa jam kemudian, Reika juga ditemukan meninggal di bathub.
Kogoro mengadakan reuni klub judo universitas angkatannya. Naas, salah satu sahabatnya dibunuh oleh sahabatnya yang lain. Di kasus ini Conan membiarkan Kogoro menyelesaikan kasus ini sendiri karena kasus ini sangat sentimental.
Kogoro, Conan, dan Ran menghadiri sebuah pesta ulang tahun puteri tunggal grup Yotsui. Sehabis pesta, ternyata beberapa mobil tamu dikempeskan bannya sehingga tidak bisa pulang. Reika Yotsui dan 5 tamu lelaki tersebut terpaksa menginap di villa. Selain itu tim Kogoro pun terpaksa menginap karena Kogoro mabuk.
Saat mencari Reika yang dianggap menghilang, salah satu teman Reika dibunuh di kolam. Lalu Ran juga hampir dibunuh di wastafel. Beberapa jam kemudian, Reika juga ditemukan meninggal di bathub.

En tiedä, miksi Salapoliisi Conan -kirjat ovat niin hyviä vaikka on jo sarjan yhdeksäs kirja menossa? 😍
Oikeastaan syitä saattaa olla moniakin. Esim. Salapoliisi Conan -kirja oli ensimmäinen mangakirja, johon tutustuin. Löysin sen Helsingin kirjamessuilta vuonna miekka ja kilpi ja se oli rakkautta ensisilmäyksellä. Uuden lukutyylin (takaa eteenpäin ja oikealta vasemmalle) tuntui aluksi haastavalta, mutta nyt se sujuu kuin vettä vain 😄
Sarjan myötä Japanista ja japanilaisesta kulttuurista kiinnostunut pikku nörtti pääsi dekkaritarinoiden kautta sukeltamaan kaikkeen, mikä jo kiinnosti siinä vaiheessa. Ja itse asiassa kiinnostus ja rakkaus lajiin vain lisääntyi 🥰
Toivon vain, että sarja pitää kutinsa, sillä näitä on kait jotain 75 osaa ja se on paljon se! 😅

This volume of Case Closed contains 2 and 3/4 stories. Two full stories and a cliff-hanger which will have you going "WHO DID IT!?!?" ha ha ha ha The first story is the kid detectives in a murder mystery which takes them all over the city to assist one of their friends who is kidnapped by the murderers. It was a fun story with an amazingly creative twist. The second case involves when Richard Moore is attending a college reunion with friends....one ends up dead! There is a prime suspect but how can they gain the proof needed to arrest the individual? Finally the last story is a murder that occurs after a wealthy financier birthday party. This is the story which does not conclude and keeps you guessing and waiting for the next volume! Good stuff as always!

Had to knock off two stars for gratuitous cliffhanger ending and the use of Radio City Music Hall on the cover and nothing related to it in the content (false hopes). Overall still fun and I’m still enjoying the series.
Three cases: Ayumi’s kidnapping, Mori’s university friend murder (kinda depressing), drowning murder at the villa (unresolved). Forget the names of the cases but these are just my notes.

I think my only thoughts on this volume is:
- The case with the kids, where the girl decided to hide on the trunk of the car, is kind of ridiculous.
- It's very forward thinking of the professor to make a super fast skateboard that runs on solar power.
- The last case is kind of interesting, and if I remember correctly then the solution to the mystery is also kind of great.

Se riuscissi entro stasera a scrivere anche le altre recensioni per tutti i fumetti che ho letto ultimamente, sarei davvero brava. E potrei riportarli in Italia, visto che parto domani pomeriggio.
Ogni tanto mi piace leggere le avventure di Conan e dei suoi piccoli amici. Sono un intermezzo piacevole!

I absolutely loved this Volume. The first case was really good but considering the fact that I remembered every detail it dragged a little (hence the 4.75 and not full 5 stars). Case number 2 and 3 are two of my all time favourites - especially the third case is simply immaculate ♥

La réunion de classe de Kogoro et le meurtre de l'héritière sont deux très bonnes affaires dont je gardais de bons souvenirs.
L'affaire de la disparition d'Ayumi est un peu moins bonne mais la fin est rigolote.

Ayumi yg terkurung di bagasi mobil, kasus pembunuhan reuni klub Dojo dan pembunuhan di acara ultah putri tunggal pengusaha. Mungkin karena kasus pertama kurang menarik, rasa untuk kasus selanjutnya jadi terdampak juga.

Ich mochte vor allem die Story Kogoro sehr gerne, weil er anscheinend doch mehr in sich trägt als ein betrunkener Lustmolch zu sein.
