A good book but not an enjoyable one. There are lots of POVs here, most of them desperately running around suffering, dying, or trying not to die. But the one that really stands out is that of the pessimistic Palestinian professor (relatively) safe in Beirut. He explains what's actually going on and expresses frustration at his and his people's helplessness. It is expressed so clearly and very relatable to those of us detached from the worst parts of the world.
