Sickening to know that this book is still in use.. Justifies racial profiling, immediate aggressive behavior, and promotes "hunter vs prey" approach for vehicle stops.

I purchased this book shortly after I transferred to patrol with my department, and found it to be a valuable resource for the police officer interested in becoming more proficient in many aspects of the job.

The author starts with several incidents that took the lives of good police officers, to keep the reader focused on the fact that law enforcement is a serious occupation, where one misstep due to complacency or just bad luck can be fatal.

I found the section on highway interdiction to be extremely valuable for my beat. With the learned information from this section, I became very good at turning "routine" traffic stops into drug arrests.

If you or someone you know and love is in law enforcement, this book is very useful. (Note: I purchased this book in the early 90's. While the technology available to law enforcement has advanced exponentially, this book has valuable information that stands the test of time.)
