I was pleasantly surprised to hear the references to God in this book, and when I looked more closely at it, I learned that it is a Zonderkidz I Can Read Level 2 book (which I think is the same publisher who distributes the Berenstain Bear books now).
Jen ends up befriending a hard-to-love horse and a hard-to-love elderly neighbor through kindness, persistence, and prayer.
