Great Story for Children

This story makes the imagination work overtime. Very quick and very clever writing. I would recommend this book to older children who can read well and understand fantasy. I would not recommend this book to the parents of very small children who have to be read to as it would not be a story they would understand and since it is about nightmares, may not be appropriate. I have recommended this book to parents and would again if the children are at least 9. I let my 9 year

I really enjoyed this - kind of like "Where the Wild Things Are" mixed with a bit of Lewis Carroll and a dash of J.R.R. Tolkien with the scary spider creatures. My only complaint really is that it seems almost like too big of a story for a short story...would love to see a novel with this world, or even a novella. It reminds me of those dark yet whimsical stories I loved most when I was a kid (and still do!) ...more

Well-written short story that will make you look at your cat differently. De Kenyon spins a tale of fun and imagination that any young person should enjoy.

This would be a great story to read to a small child with a fear of spiders - always assuming you wanted the child to get over its fear of spiders.

Interesting tale of a cat who guards the dreams of the young girl. Great book for children who are afraid of the dark and who have a cat that likes to sleep with them.

Lewis Carroll does Inception. Lots of fun dreams-within-dreams stuff that's full of more than enchantment than frightening suspense. And a must for cat lovers. ...more

De Kenyon is a writer and mom who lives near Denver, Colorado, in kind of a boring suburb, where she passes out horror books for kids every Halloween and has shelves full of weird crystals and skulls and one of those machines that you have to put in fifty cents every time you want candy. If you don’t want your black jellybeans, she does. The three neighbor kids next door think she might be a witch ...more
