Paler wrote a number of poetry collections during his lifetime. The poems, which appear as definitions , are rather like Haiku in their intensity and condensed descriptions of a feeling or a moment, they offer us an open door into the larger world of internal reflection. read one a day before meals or lingering over coffee

Haunting and beautiful.

"Come, so I can rediscover the way to myself."

"Even drops of blood known the meaning of 'home.' Otherwise they would wander through the body and forget to return to the heart."

Beautiful short poems, full of thoughts I had thought before in different words. I especially loved Definition of Me, Definition of a Tear, Definition of an impossible alternative, and We Have Time.
