Geoff Nelder’s “Hot Air” is what I would call a “crimedy”; a mix of crime and comedy that wouldn’t exist without it’s zany cast. Off on a good start, I had to think of Nelder's "Escaping Reality" and also the movie "In Bruges". The entire opening scene in the balloon is very gripping, very easy to visualize, funny, and makes you very curious what will happen to these people. But somewhere along the way the humor was lost and I realized I couldn't get a full grasp on the main character.
