I don't normally like location books. I'm a little more tolerant of them in fantasy games than I am in modern games, but even so, I usually find them boring and restrictive. The Compass of Terrestrial Direcetions series has been slowly but surely changing my mind, and The West is the best so far. To my surprise, every chapter is full of character, session, and even campaign seeds that are full of possibility. The West has long been my favorite direction, and it just got better.

Among other things, this book finally tells us something about Skullstone - some awesome things about Skullstone. It also updates Wavecrest and Coral and sheds some light on Sunkent Luthe.

All in all, a great purchase that I do not even slightly regret.
