The second volume not only adds to the world building that the first one started, it was also outrageously funny. It reads like a parody of many a science fiction series, whether on TV or in a book. The two main characters already appeared in the first book, and a few more appear; I am sure they will get their own story soon – I am definitely curious how this is going to progress. The storyline spanning across the series doesn’t do much in this book, which was fine, since everyone was busy hunting slimy worms.
Pax is super cute, has blue skin and is a master at misunderstanding others. He is also desperately looking for a home but scared to death of trusting anyone. As he works through his issues, now that he has found his mate, he also manages to befriend Gigi (from book 1), hunt the worms (despite the fact he is terrified of them) and get into more trouble than seems possible.
Colt, the hawk shifter, takes a while to figure out Pax, but once he does, there is no stopping him. His constant need to ‘reclaim’ Pax, just to see if his mate is okay, made me laugh. His patience with Pax was wonderful, and the way he brings laughter back into his mate’s life made me smile.
These two are another winning team. They made just not each other laugh, but me as well. Their need to 'reclaim' each other after each scary episode made for some very hot action between the sheets. If you like shifter stories, sci-fi tales, or a combination of the two, and appreciate a hot alpha male making his quirky happy, you will like this book. I did, and definitely look forward to the next one.

Week 2.5: Co-authored book (anthologies written by more than two authors are not accepted)

So this was ten times better than the first one, although that isn't saying almost nothing. I enjoyed this typical shifter story with more angst than an entire sophomore class at a large urban high school. Why do I love that?
It's great how Colt makes sure that he's not ordering Pax around, that Pax is in control of who touches him, he goes at Pax's speed etc., although once they're mated they kind of gets ignored a little. Both little mates are treated like children including getting them puppies. It's disturbing and even more so because I still enjoy it. I think I've gotten so used to it and they're always referred to as men and equals that it doesn't occur to me that they could be children thank god. It's kind of like they're elves or something. Yeah, I'll go with that.
BTW, in the future on a high tech ship with a replicator they don't even have a dishwasher? How depressing.
What the did at the end made no sense, or at least that's what I wrote in my notes, but I finished the book a matter of hours ago and I already don't remember what I was referring to, so who cares?

In this book we met Pax, or how Colt(his mate)calls him, little bird. Don't laugh! he doesnt call him that way for any other reason than the fact that Colt is a hawk shifter....what pervy minds u all have... xD
Pax and Gigi become quickly friends and together are the terror of the ship, mostly bcs Gigi always drags Pax in his dubious plans and they end up in some mess. There was a little drama in this book, when we find out about how Pax, in the past, had to sell his body to eat and stay alive, but there was also a lot of fun, with the cockless worms invasion. Yes, u aread well, these worms have no... u know.... or they lose it after they mate..
Anyway this book was fun, also if all went too fast, there was tons of sex and I would have liked a bit more of talking, not dirty talking, that was plenty.

It was okay, I guess. The first one was much better. This one felt more Lynn Hagen than Stormy Glenn. I don't remember Gigi and Pax coming across so mentally deficient in the first book. I am guessing the authors were going for cute, innocent and sweet but to me it came across as vacuous.

This was a very unique and fascinating read. The men on the Lady Blue (space ship) are slowly finding their mates and it makes for such a fun and entertaining escape. The mates are sweet and quirky and this book was cute and full of passion. I also appreciated the humor and banter between the characters. Looking forward to reading the next book which I already have. Yayy! :D

This is book two in the Lady Blue Crew series and although it can be read as a stand alone I would recommend you read book one first if only to get a little history on the characters.
Pax is a sweetheart carrying a whole lot of baggage. Due to his betrayal by his family he spent quite a long time living on the streets doing what he needed to do in order to survive. Unfortunately, Pax doesn't see it that way. He views himself as completely dirty and not worth anything of value. He is attracted to his mate, Colt, but knows he isn't worthy of that good, strong man. Pax has a different way of viewing the world and oftentimes he doesn't understand others humor or wit. This contributes to his very poor self-image.
Colt is a hawk shifter who has found his mate but been unable to claim him. He suspects he knows what Pax had to do to survive and he doesn't look down on him for it. Colt just wants to love and care for Pax. The mixed signals he is receiving are really confusing him, though, and Colt is unsure of how to get to know Pax without scaring him off. Colt adores everything about Pax including the way he thinks and the joy he gets from everything.
The Lady Blue is on a cargo run from Lone Star 3 to End of the Line when the ship becomes infested with Uryclian Mucus Slugs. Yeah, they are as gross as they sound, green and covered in deadly goo. Ugh. Although watching the shenanigans that Pax and Gigi get up to trying to rid the ship of the worms is hilarious. And once Pax feels more secure his sense of humor is extremely funny and entertaining.
If you're looking for eye-opening drama, this story probably isn't for you. But if you're looking for a fun, entertaining story, give it a try.

we first met Pax in book 1 and I really liked him in that one, he was just so quiet and shy. In this one we get to see him get together with his mate. Now while I still like Pax in his book the thing that drove me almost insane was Gigi, Remy's mate from book 1, he was so hyper and over the top that I wanted him to get blasted out of the nearest airlock. My biggest problem was that Gigi insanity was catching and we got this whole debacle of the slugs. It may have been set up as a funny situation to make the reader laugh but for me it went from funny to farce in two seconds flat. So all in all this one was a disappointment and not due to the protagonists but the secondary characters. I just hope that this turn in the feel of the story is an anomaly and not the tone for the rest of the series!!

The "Lady Blue Crew" books are like crack for me. I know they are bad - but I am totally addicted. They are easy to read and fairly predictable. Typical Lynn Hagen/Stormy Glenn kinda stuff.
But since you are reading my review I will lay it out like this...
I found myself thinking that I liked these books like I liked the "Brac Pack" series of books by Hagen. In fact, it was kinda like half of the Brac Pack (and their mates) got transported aboard a space ship. The characters and their dynamics were very similar.
Seriously, they are so much alike in ways it's almost funny. But I did enjoy reading them and I found myself hopelessly addicted to this series the way I was to the BP series. I loved Maverick Brac and his band of slutty shifters and I also loved Remington Vystal and his spaceship of slutty shifters!!
It's like crack I say and Siren Publishing is my dealer!

Its a entertaining, fun and lighthearted read and I love Pax. He's cute, gets frustrated with his inabiltiy to understand the crews slang, and is nervous about being Colt's mate...thinking the shifter deserves someone better. Colt is big, possessive and understanding that Pax needs time to accept him and I appreciated that the authors allowed him that time.
Then there's the trouble Pax and Gigi manage to get into. The scenes where they're searching the ship for the lethal slug-like creatures, while carrying kitchen spatulas for weapons made me laugh. And I almost forgot to mention the puppies that show up later in the story...so cute...and I'm almost afraid to think of whats going to happen with them in future releases.
I look forward to Imlay's Cure, the next release.

Every so often you just need a story that will lighten up your day, and this one hits the mark. Pax and his buddy, Gigi, are hilariously funny, and their antics are sure to keep you in stitches time and time again. As with any couple Colt and Pax have their differences, but the love and kindness they share makes their passion all the more delectable. These guys are a trip, and I am eagerly awaiting the next duo to hook up on the Lady Blue.

Really loved the humor in this one. I had a good time reading about Colt and Pax getting together. Gigi and Pax, when Pax finally relaxed, were hilarious together. Pax was a bit strange with his non-understanding of the expressions used by the crew. This plot point really didn't make sense to me with Pax's background. I would have thought he would have been a little more "worldly". The overall plot was a little easy but I do read these books to "feel good".

I admit the second part of this story was truly funny and well plot and staged. But the first half of this story was a bit pain in the ass. Pax was really annoying. With his sulkiness, not understanding the crew member and feeling stupid etc. This part was really annoying, but when he realized that Colt loved him the way he was, the plot of this story developed onto new step, better one. I liked the second half of this book. It was comical, well written and I liked it.

Fun read...but honestly I think I liked the first one of the series better than this one. Either way, I like reading about all the guys together on the ship. I feel like it doesn't equally focus on shifters as it does the sci-fi aspect of the story. And I got really sick of reading "little bird" over and over and over and over and...well, you get the drift.

I know I liked the alpha males in this series but the mates are a hoot. I liked Pax and Colt together. Pax needs someone to love him as he is and Colt is definitely up to the task. I like the matter of fact way the different species are dealt with... well except for Gigi and Pax's off the cuff reactions. Nice light reads so far.

For 3/4 of this Pax and Gigi had me in complete stitches. Those two are incorrigible and there's no end to their mischievousness, curiosity and their trouble making quarks!
If you haven't read this series yet you sure as hell are missing out on an incredible set of stories. A very light and fun filled read.

These books really aren't made to be taken seriously, but Pax really got on my nerves. He took the smaller, weaker mate thing to a whole new level. I felt for him in that he was very literal minded so much of the jokes and sayings people had went over his head, but it got tiresome.

The second half of the book in particular was funny (the image of Pax sitting on the table with tongs and a spatula to defend against worms) but the overuse of "little bird" made me cringe, and Pax came across as really slow. Assuming Imlay is next, and that he will quit being so uptight.

Loved this book. I really enjoy how the guys get themselves in different situations. Pax with the slugs and Gigi with the man-eating replicator. Lord, it makes me laugh and laugh!
