This book was given to me at a time when I was still working as a photojournalist, but had gone freelance and was not working specifically for newspapers.
The book changed my way of seeing, radically, and has influenced my way of thinking, critically on everything I shoot.

It presents you with an established format of how to best represent your subject, and then adds the critical thinking support, giving you, the photographer, an insight into how the image will look as it appears on newsstands.

Harold Evans is a British-born journalist and writer who was editor of the Sunday Times from 1967 to 1981. A graduate of Durham University, he has written a number of bestselling histories.
