Had a Skype with the author and totally added another dimension.

Based on a true life crime, I found this book to be a compelling read. Once I started, it was hard to put down. This book is about 2 women-Lucy, missing and presumed dead by brutal circumstances and Ellen a friend, albeit not a close friend, who becomes involved in the mystery surrounding Lucy's disappearance. The book is about relationships- controlling, destructive relationships; it's about believing in your visions and believing in your own strengths. Highly recommended.

didn't read and can't figure out (yet) how to get it off my "currently reading" list without marking it finished... anybody know?

I read this book for bookclub. We will host the author in the fall so hope to have a good discussion.

Terrible writing . . . one of the most boring, tiresome book I ever read. Had to finish because a friend of mine lent me the book and told me she knows the author and she is good. Not.

I really loved this book. Brenda created characters that I wished I could know without making them too nice or too awful. It is a page turner and joyfully, unrepentantly Canadian.

Omg such a good book! I loved that it was based on a true story. The author keeps switching back from the main character’s POV with flashbacks from her friend the victim.

I read this in one day - it was hard to put down. Normally I stay away from anything Canadian, but I’m so glad my husband picked it out for me.

Defiantly recommend!
