It is a nice syllabus book to cover the main streams in philosophy, but it has this insistence on giving a feminist perspective that is kind of half-hearted. It is not yet 2024 when this was written, so luckily for us I suppose, the book is still readable. It's only in the end that a few names are dropped, other than people like Hildegaard from Bingen, Wollstonecraft, Harriet Taylor Mill, and Simone de Beauvoir, while other female philosophers who have earned their spot in history are ignored(like Simone Weil, Ayn Rand of course, and Hannah Arend). There is of course very little self-critique of the feminist perspectives, although I think the authors manage to keep things pretty objective throughout. The title itself comes from these "questions" that the authors put in between chapters and subchapters, most for my nuisance. The weight of science theory in the end makes it all a bit more complicated than mere history and ideas for beginners.

Jeg har brukt denne boken som hjelpemiddel til arbeidskrav og eksamen, og synes den er lettere å lese og forstå enn andre filosofibøker jeg har hatt. Nå skal det sies at jeg bare har lest relevante (for meg) utdrag fra boken, og det kan hende jeg hadde ment noe annet om jeg hadde lest den perm til perm. Jeg vil nok ikke anbefale den til skikkelig fordypning i filosofi, men ellers funker den fint i skolesammenheng.
