A Compilation Highlighting the Blunt and Uncompromising Teachings of Arten and Pursah on A Course in Miracles Foreword written by best selling author of The Disappearance of the Universe and Your Immortal Reality, Gary Renard
Didn't expect too much from a book with this title, but I'm a big fan of Gary and the DU series and so is the author. What a pleasant surprise. I so love a good book about ACIM. Well-written, entertaining, low-brow humor, but I was expecting a stoner book with that title and I just didn't get any of that 420 love reading this book. Oh well...
I was re-introduced to ACIM through DU. After DU I started my Course work. I adore the text of ACIM, especially listening to the sonorous voice of Jim Stewart which drives my wife crazy. She's more likely to read this book and I hope she does. If you're into reading thick tomes with poetic and beautifully-written text, this perhaps you will venture into reading A Course in Miracles and doing the Workbook and Teachers Manual.
As a fitness professional, I guess I'll still have to write a book about how it feels not to really have a body to do my job. Everyone can share their way of finding the path to ACIM. What a wonderful share and to become a part of a community of like-forgiving individuals.
Also, it's good to share ACIM from many cultural perspective making it accessible to your community. I love reading about Dr. Bill Thetford co-scribe of the Course because he was gay! I'm gay (for this apparent story dream life) and what a hoot to read the scribing of this most magnificent gift!
ACIM answers every question for those who really want to know the truth and are ready to question fearlessly.
I am not a body I am free for I am still as God created me.
Fitness Professional bemoans ACIM or God got jokes...
I finally finished this book! It took me a while but I enjoyed it. I like the Arten and Pursah take on ACIM and found this book a great refresher for all the principles the course teaches. Some interpretations I agreed with more than others but after some thought everything felt equally valid to me. I also enjoyed the sense of humor in this book, especially the funnies section in the back. Over all, I would recommend this to anyone interested in ACIM and who doesn't mind some humor with their studies. :)
I never thought I would like any book by an author who does not like reading the Course, let alone thinks the Thomas Gospel is irrelevant, but this one takes the cake! This has got to be one of the best books on the Course, and of course the connection with the Thomas gospel is relevant to some, but not to others, and is not the essence of what the Course is all about.
In all, if Gary Renard's books are the cliff notes to the Course, then this book is the cliff notes to Gary Renard.
A great breakdown of the Course and Gary Renard’s work
I enjoyed both learning more about Mikey as well as getting his take on condensing Gary Renard’s work (through his visits with the ascended masters Arten and Pursah) as well as his summary of what A Course in Miracles really means. A great primer if you are new to either Gary Renard or A Course in Miracles.
