ETA: changed this from 5 to 4.5, as I've now nearly finished Summer Camp and that's a 5 star!
Reread from childhood, took me nearly a month to reread this bit by bit but I think this is the best one in the series so far, with the hoax mysteries, the dress drama, and book-ended with the painting and poem... I also like that the tennis is described very briefly- I get bored watching a real tennis match let alone reading about one! :D

I only discovered that there were more than 5 books in this series a week ago, and I ordered the sixth one straight away - wasn't meant to arrive for another week and a half, but it came already, and I think this is my fave one so far! I love the relationship between Pippa and Rebecca so much, Pippa seems so lovely, and I'm really sad that was her last term so she won't feature any more... Was a really lovely book overall!

I don't think I've ever met a single person who's read this book, but oh it does bring back special memories. In actual fact, it's a book that I will always remember because when was a foetus, I used to do this thing where I would make up songs, based on the books that I was reading at the time. This particular batch included Street Hawk and Forest of Fire. Ahhhh, good mems.

Book six of the series and this is probably the best one in the series, although the author really can't write sporting contests very well, it felt like someone opened the back page of the newspaper and told you about the soccer by saying oh Liverpool one Manchester United lost.
This was about tennis though, but the descriptions were non-existent, has she never watched the game before?
Also the school head comes across as a right old bat.
Anyway average, and not without faults but still the best so far in what is a series that is much longer than it should be.

At last Rebecca writes another poem! Though the process (and the resulting poem) could really have been shown more. It's more like, here's some inspiration...and hey presto, a poem suitable for publication in the prestigious Trebizon Journal (which hasn't been mentioned for a few books). The whole hoax thing was a bit overblown, but it did seem like something that might happen at a school I suppose. The best of the series after they leave the junior school, so far. Tish's brother is a jealous controlling idiot though, and should be dumped forthwith.

This is the best book in the series so far. And although I enjoy this series I feel each story within it is rushed. They lack the charm of the early boarding school stories (pre-70s) that lingered and told everything in great detail.

Reread in January 2019 - a warm hug of a book. The tennis parts were riveting and I love how Rebecca is maturing. I love this series so much.

I almost want to give this five stars. I think it's the best in the series so far. I loved the plot with Pippa, whom I've always liked, and the end is so incredibly lovely and made me deeply nostalgic for my school days which I wish they'd been more like Rebecca's. Wonderful series, very inspiring.

One of my favourites in the Trebizon series, although I always feel so sorry for Pippa and the burden she has to carry through her final term. Another good story and particularly atmospheric, capturing the heat and events of the summer term really well.
