First I have to let it be known this is the first book I've read from Jana and also the first I've read of the Denver Pack series. That being said I was NOT lost or confused at any point in the book even though this is the third of the series. I did not know this was part of a series when I purchased it and am very pleased with what I've read:)
Casey never felt complete or that she belonged. She hung with 'friends' just to make them look better (or so she was told). All she wants is to lose her virginity and feel more alive. She tells this constantly to her best friend and has set her mind to make it happen.
Devon is visiting with this pack to try and find some that are part of the Prophesy. He is the Beta in his pack and it is part of his responsibility to do so. After the meeting to introduce themselves and get some people to come forward. He finds someone he least expected and is thrilled beyond imagination.
This is a fast paced relationship (but that is usually normal when it comes to the paranormal), it buds very quickly among Casey, Devon and Sid. They complete each other in no way they've ever experienced and will be there for one another through thick and thin. Love this trio!
A different outlook to the paranormal/shifter world that brings a nice switch to the usual.
Devon: The Beta's Double Trouble Denver Pack (book 3) by Jana Leigh
What would you do if you found out that you were not who you always thought you were?
Casey and Reggie have been best friends since childhood. Neither had ever wanted to be anything more. They were both just hoping to find their mates and move forward into their futures.
This book has so much feeling in it. Ms. Leigh has done a wonderful job of describing all the emotions that everyone goes through: anger, sadness, confusion, betrayal, happiness and love.
I am not one to read a tear jerker book, and yes, I did cry, but I am glad that I didn't miss this one. It helps that it is in a series. I get to see what happens from here.
After only reading 3 books, I highly recommend this series.
I don't like her writing styles. Constantly reading I will, we are, do not as opposed to I'll, we're and don't drives me batty. I couldn't take anymore. I'm also not crazy about m/m action so I quit reading about half way through when I realized most of the books in this series will have m/f/m, m/m action.
This one seemed a little short to me and WOW! Can you say drama? There was a lot going on in this novel, perhaps too much. Hopefully it's all smoothed out in book four but I am enjoying the series. Although I found the whole two mate thing a little rushed. It seems kind of unrealistic!
