When Vivian decided to organize a hunt she thought it was a good idea. Now that is happening, she is second guessing her decision. All is not as it appears to be though as some of the guests have ulterior motives and one she is trying to trust betrays her.

This story was a bit different than the first book as it is told from different perspectives of the seethe members. The story is like a spider spinning a delicate web. I am always thrilled to find a book that is not predictable and surprises me

I am really enjoying this series. It has mystery, love and excitement. There is not a dull moment in the book. Vivian and Rafe are a great couple. And their resort is for the supernatural. Looking forward to next book.

Just finished the second book in the V V Inn vamp series. I really love this series. It has everything I look for in a good paranormal series...vampires & werewolves mostly. Well, this one had plenty of excitement in the hunting of a criminal, supplied by the Tribunal. Dria & Rafe soon are wondering if this whole "hunt" was such a wise decision. There were many times I was agreeing with them.

The story takes place at the Alaskan resort owned by married couple Dria (vamp) & Rafe (human). This tim

Really enjoyed this book! It was a very clever and smart way of telling a story from several characters point of view. The story was seamlessly passed between each person and I had no trouble keeping up with who we were with at any given point. From seeing what Rafe and Jonathan truly think about each other, to inside the mind of Paul who was recently turned, it was very enlightening. Asa was a joy to learn more about, as was Drew.

I would highly recommend this book as a follow up to the first a

So many books to review and so little time. I loved this book, it out shined the first one in the series and was just fast paced and exciting. C.J Ellisson can do no wrong when it comes to her take on Vampires and wear wolfs. They are hot, smart, and strangely human. Come take a ride with them through the frozen tundra and you will see what I mean. Great work!!!

This story is all about hunting Emiko, a deadly ninja vampire. She was accused of murder and exposing vampires to humans. The VV Inn is hosting the first official Hunting a rogue vampire for sport. It's deadly and lots of mysteries come to light. And we get some new members to the Seethe( a vampire family). ...more

This is an awesome series by a wonderful Authoress, C.J. Ellisson.

"It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent that survives, it is the one that is the most adaptable to change."- Charles Darwin

This is the quote that really best describes the series and its characters. The series centers around the vampiress Vivian, her human husband Rafe and her wolf-man to call Jonathan. There are a number of really well thought out and delicious secondary characters that add

THE HUNT (Vampire Vacation #2) by C.J.Ellisson

THE HUNT is the second novel in C.J.Ellisson’s Vampire Vacation series featuring the sexy ancient vampire Alexandria “Vivian” and her family of vampires and werewolves. The Hunt begins approximately 2 months following their last adventure at the VV INN in Vampire Vacation, and focuses on an organized and pre-arranged hunt for a rogue vampire. The content is graphic and not intended for readers under 18.

The vampire vacation spot is back again with the second installment of the VV Inn series. A paranormal thriller with some erotic scenes to heat you up, this read is a fun one with another murder mystery to solve.

The story takes place a few months after the first one left off. Vivian has agreed to have a hunt on the property and allow vampires and werewolves to come join the fun in hunting down a rogue vampire for a sanctioned kill. Things are dif

Wow! I have managed to finish The Hunt, book two of this series, and I did it in about the third of the time it took to read Vampire Vacation. This book was also written in first person present pov, but with a difference. Where Vampire Vacation was totally Vivian’s pov, this one changes every chapter. We get to “hear” from each member of Vivian’s Seethe. Although this gives different perceptions of the action, I also found it a bit confusing trying to remember who was speaking at any given time, ...more

This is my 3rd book by C. J. Ellisson, and they keep getting better. This is the second book in the series, and this time Vivien and Rafe (her human husband) are hosting a hunt for a rogue vampire. In book 1, Vampire Vacation, Viv had to solve a murder at her inn in Alaska. At that time she enlisted the help of other vampires vacationing there, and the resulting hunt for Ivan, a rogue vampire who had murdered a guest, had all the vacationers clamoring for a similar situation for their next vacat ...more

C. J. Ellisson has a unique voice as she writes this series as it's happening and from various characters point of view. The character point of view changes by chapter. Some of the characters are uniquely enough represented that the reader will know who it is without going back to check. I occasionally get confused by this and have to check.

It's a fast moving story with plenty of sizzle! And plenty of violence. While the story feels light, like

Great exciting read

Really good book. I don't know if I liked it more than the first book though, I think because this time it switched around the point of view to whom was talking in each chapter
It was confusing at times as I'd not realize that who was talking had changed in the new chapter.. my fault because it says in each heading who the person who is talking in the chapter is. I guess I just didn't care for it in this case. In some books it works really well, but in this one not so much. Ag

When reading a series, I really love when nearly every complaint I had about the first book has been approved upon in the second! While I did enjoy Vampire Vacation, I thought that the story had way more potential than it had reached and I'm glad to see that The Hunt unlocked a lot of that and put it proudly on display.

I was hoping to be able to say otherwise but I still do not like Vivian, the heroine of this story. Her arrogance is unbelievable and her attitude annoyed the crap out of me. Lu

Things are getting dangerous up in Alaska and Viv has a lot on her hands as she tries to keep everything under control without revealing her own extraordinary powers. With the Tribunal a bit of a wild card (SERIOUSLY, are they shooting straight or trying to set Viv up), the seethe is working overtime to keep themselves and their human employees safe.

Frankly, I don't blame Viv for being paranoid about keeping her powers hidden. With what she can do, everyone could be a potential enemy out to make

THE HUNT was very entertaining. While not as steamy as the first book, VAMPIRE VACATION, it is still sexy and suspenseful. Vivian has acquired a seethe, which she did not want to do. This small “family” of vampires, who joined her after the adventures of the last book, brings her a lot of new challenges. The arriving guests, most returning after their impromptu hunt in the first book, are excited to join the Tribunal sanctioned quest for a rogue vampire. Killing a trained enforcer is a deadly an ...more

This is the second full-length novel in the V V Inn series and it follows numerous vampires and wolves who have paid a hefty fee to participate in The Hunt. This is a hunt on a criminal vampire across the Alaskan resort grounds over the course of a week. Since the criminal wants to survive the week as she will be set free if she does, it becomes a no-holds-barred game in which death is very real! As we all are aware, a lot of seque

The transition from book one to book two flows so smoothly that even though it had been some time since I read the first book Vampire Vacation, I didn't have to go back and re-read the ending or try hard to remember the ending of book one; or it could just be Ms. Ellisson's fantastic writing skills that leave you remembering every word, every scene.

The Hunt begins with Dria hosting the hunt of a vampire criminal on V V Inn Resort. The rule is that if the vampire criminal could escape the seven vampires and seven werewolves that hunt her, she will gain her freedom. Dria's old rival, Caro shows up with the prisoner.

As the hunt continues, Dria has to decide if there is more to the hunt then it seems. Is Caro using the prisoner to bring down Dria?

With the vampire politics that intertwined with the plot, the story starts to get very interestin

Hostess for Hunting

First to start, 4 tiara wearing bats with an extra tiara out of 5 bats for the author.

The VV Inn is back for another go. Now that the vacations are over the hunt begins.

The first book introduced all the players and now they get to share their views as a new kind of big game hunt gets ready to take place. I love that although these are primarily vampire books, here we get to meet and see more of the weres (and it looks like they may even get to be a focus in the next book).

This is the second book in the series. We have a better grasp on who all are working for Dria now, and where everyone pretty much stands. The thrill of the hunt from the previous book had given Dria ideas for a paid hunt. Which had the same time brought along old problems of a sort with the Ancients and the council.

There is and even amount of sex and danger in this book, I found it to be a pretty much of a page turner. Yes Asa does make a mistake, and takes his lumps for it, and is forgiven, but

Book two takes place a couple of months after book 1 ended. The vampires from book 1 had such a great time tracking and helping to kill Ivan that Vivian and Rafe took up their suggestion to have another vampire hunt. This one though is a vampire that has been sentenced to death by the Tribunal. Only problem is that there are doubts about the vampire being guilty and thoughts that she’s actually being set up.

I will tell you that I was a little worried starting this book because each character t

No Spoilers...This book can be read as a standalone without a cliffhanger, however if the previous books are read you will get more enjoyment out of this book. This book is written in multiple point of views. The reader is in the head of every Seethe member. I went back and forth on this approach, I didn't get as intimate with the characters in this story as I did in the previous VV Inn stories. I missed that in this story. However, I did get to become a member of the seethe by communicating wit ...more

The book is not from one perspective, but changes off among several characters from Vivian's seethe. On a general principle I don't like it when books are written this way as often it can be confusing for unsophisticated readers, but I do have to admit the author did a great job handling it. I also have to admit that it added alot to the overall story as the reader was able to have insight to thoughts and motivations of the main characters that comprise the seethe without having actions shaded b ...more

What a fun way to spend a vacation....if you were a vampire, or werewolf.
When Vampire Vacation ended with demise of Ivan, and the addition of new members to the "family", a fun idea was brought to the table to have a "hunt" of a rouge vampire. What Vampire wouldn't want to have the opportunity to come out of hiding for a little bit of fun. Vampires and werewolves team up to hunt one of their own.
