Wow, this was one steaming hot sci-fi that kept me turning the pages! While it's certainly not for the under aged, it boasts a great story as well as hot elements. And the characters were completely compelling. Loved it!

"Sweet Starman"

I met Jessica Subject through her blog Mark of the Stars ( where she interviewed me after reviewing my novel. I’m happy to return the favor by sharing my enjoyment of her short story Celestial Seduction.

Science fiction isn’t my favorite genre but Jessica’s story drew me in from the beginning due to her excellent characterization. The story features Frey, an alien masquerading as a human, and Carrie, a woman recovering from her recent divorce. Both

Celestial Seduction is a short sci-fi story, and still with its shorter length and sci-fi feel, the author has created two loveable and relatable leading characters, high sexual tension, a strong conflict and a good ending. The sex scene remains true to the characters, and at the same time it is a well balanced mix of sexy, adorable, and pulls at the reader's heart strings. During the lovemaking scene, the hero displays a unique vulnerability, delivering a powerful sensual punch that makes the r ...more

This story is an excellent, deft blend of science fiction and romance, the latter blossoming in the most unexpected places. The characters are layered and likable, and you find yourself cheering for Frey and Carrie every step of the way, especially after their first date. Although the story ends too quickly and abruptly, the pacing is a testament of Ms. Subject's expertise in writing in these two genres. I'd love to see this story continued, I greatly enjoyed this story and recommend it to anyon ...more

I never read Sci-Fiction, but this book called to me due to my fondness of the 1NS series. And, my instincts were right! I loved the uniqueness of the story, and she did an excellent job of making me love the characters in so short a time.

Such a sweet, fun, sexy summer read. I'd love to see more Sci-Fiction Romance from her, any day! And, yes, this is from a non-sci-fiction reader!

Celestial Seduction is one of the short stories in Decadent Publishing’s 1-Night Stand series. Don’t be deceived, these aren’t your typical one night stands, they are arranged by the mysterious, and possibly magical Madame Evangeline whose goal is to find partner for her one night stands. This time she might be a little in over her head though as her subjects aren’t

Celestial Seduction was a super quick read that I got through in about an hour. Jessica did a good job of giving decent back story that was pertinent without prolonging the story line. With a story this short I found it a bit hard to invest in the characters emotions so I read it completely on a superficial level. Having said that I did find it well wrote and easy to read. The writing was fluid and constant. I found no lagging parts, not that it was long enough for that.

The story is the extremely

I was asked to review this by friend and fellow book blogger, Jessica (@markofthestars). She also happens to be the author of this story. Now it was only 35 pages long, but it still managed to packed a punch for me.

We start off by meeting Frey, our alien. He is sick and tired of being in space, of being taught not to feel anything. He wants to leave and live amongst the humans. His comma

Celestial Seduction was a really quick read that I finished during one of my lunch breaks. Frey has refused to return to his home planet. He has decided that he wants to his true love on Earth. He signs up for a dating service and waits several months before finally arranging a date with Carrie who he feels may be a potential mate for him. When the two finally meet the relationship takes off quickly.

I thought this was a sweet love story. Frey come

Aliens aren't really my bag ... baby. But when Jess told me she was going to be a published author I just had to read her short story!
This book had everything us gals (and guys) look for in our romance. A somewhat nervous woman who opens up while engulfed in passion, a strong, sexy as all heck man err alien, and a whole lotta steamy s-e-x! Jess didn't disappoint here. Her imagery was insane! I could almost see his ... ahem ... bulge and couldn't help but want to read more!

I loved this book. It was short, only about 35 pages, but it caught my attention and kept me intrigued. Fans of Sci Fi Romance will love it too. Frey was so cute and somewhat insecure about himself and Carrie had low self esteem issues. She was not as simple as I thought and Frey was determined to win her over. This book was both touching and humorous. I highly recommend this book.

I loved this book. It had the amazing combination of love, sex, romance, and science fiction. It is fabulous. Jessica Subject manages to do in brief short story what so many authors struggle with in huge books--she makes her readers feel. This is a debut book and its fabulous.

Very sweet & sexy sci-fi short read. I really enjoyed this story and loved having a mini-catch-up with Tamara, Carrie's best friend from Beneath the Starry Sky.

Recommended read.

Frey Berger, an alien on a mission to Earth decides not to return to his home planet of Ginnun, where emotions and feelings are discouraged. His intended mate already chose another over him, so Frey has no reason to go back and he likes human emotions, he wants to experience more. Frey contacts 1NightStand dating service to find his true mate who would accept his true self and experience love. Carrie was deeply hurt when her high sch

A man from another galaxy, choosing to stay on earth after being wronged. A women left by her childhood sweetheart and unable to have children. Thrown together through a dating agency specializing in one night stands. A strange premise for a romance short story.

Firstly, in the interest of full disclosure, I haven't read many sci-fi romances and perhaps this has colored my views. Like other reviewers (see below) I have found it very hard to elsbora

This was a no muss no fuss read. I liked Frey immensely, and I mostly liked Carrie. Her crying and running away were a bit annoying. The only real out of place aspect was her utter acceptance of Frey's secret. Now don't get me wrong, the belief was okay, but not asking a single question before jumping in the sack?? You should probably confirm physical compatibility at the very least. While sweet, the ending was almost laughable in its predictability.

Another awesome 1Night Stand story. This one had an alien twist. Sexy!!

A really quick read that had plenty of heart. It only had one steamy scene but it was very sensual.

I'm not usually a sci fi fan, but I really enjoyed this short read. The human/alien relationship was actually believable. Both Frey and Carrie are well-rounded characters. When I got to the end I wanted to know more of the story. A touching and refreshingly different romance.
