A tale of the cycle of life as it follows a Maiasaura, a duck-billed dinosaur, named Maia from her hatching to her stages of life until she becomes a mother. This story takes place in the area known as Montana in North America 80 million years ago.

What I like about this book is its educational value. Although the children who will be reading this book will be experiencing the excitement and thrills of MAIA’s journey through life, they will also learn about other species and their habits. I really like the way the author placed the definitions of the dinosaurs in the back of the book.

This was one of my favorite books as a child. I can't count how many times I checked it out from the library and poured over the gorgeous illustrations.
